About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm packing my life into a bag, stringing up my guitar and venturing off into the world.

ABOUT ME

I was born in a rural Australian town in 1982. I spent most of my first 21 years there (except 9 months backpacking North America, Western Europe, North Africa when I was 16).

When I decided to leave my hometown, I travelled around Australia fruit-picking. Eventually I settled in Melbourne where I took on tertiary education.

Shortly after completion of a Masters of Speech Pathology, I began working in the healthcare sector providing Speech Pathology service to a wide range of adult patients.

Music - I've played guitar since I was 8, started singing and writing when I was 11 and have recently independently released my third album. If everyone has a single talent that supercedes all else, then music is mine.

Travel - I've backpacked through many countries staying mostly in youth hostels. While my passport is littered with stamps, I feel like I've barely skimmed the surface. I'm desperate to break through the tourist barrier and live the local life with the local people, to learn the language, eat the food, and play the music just as a local would. And in so doing, add to the richness of my own and my friends' life experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

It's always worth having a chat.

All things in moderation.

Social connectivity is built on strong communication, in whatever form that may come.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the CouchSurfing world. I know I have plenty to offer but have yet to determine how best to serve the community. As I become more familiar with how the community functions, and what it is to be a Surfer, I'm sure I will become involved in the propogation of this remarkable network.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a general appreciation for the arts with the exception of Hollywood pap, pop music (unless I'm dancing!) and airport novels.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a speech pathologist - I can teach you about principles of language development, breakdown and how to fix it. I can talk about the voice and how to manipulate it to serve different purposes. I can teach you to modify your accent or modify the way you present oral or written material to suit certain needs.

I would love to share music with you. Whether you play or not.

Let's talk - soon we'll discover we all have a lot to share.
