About Me
Hi! I moved to California in June 2017 to live and work on Catalina Island.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm in the middle of having a flare up of a back injury I received when I was 15. Medical expenses are getting steep and I need a crash pad when I come in for treatment to hopefully prolong the time I am able to spend out here without work while I heal. I don't want to go home! It's landlocked and cold!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to Europe, Asia, Central America, South America and about half of the continental United States.
Teach, Learn, Share
I majored in Biology recently and am an instructor at an educational youth camp. There I teach marine biology, geology, plant ecology, sea kayaking and snorkeling skills. Basically I introduce children to basic scientific principles and encourage them to do physical activities throughout.
I also guide snorkel tours at a dive shop on the island and am in the process of obtaining my scientific dive certificate so I can move into the research field.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm clean and personable. If we end up being friends you might be able to come to the island and kick it here with me.
