ABOUT ME

I am a hippie at heart. A child of the 60s. Retired and reverting back to being a hippie once again. I have one grown son. My views are liberal and I am an Atheist who grew up in a Reform Jewish household. I have always loved traveling. Living the dream in retirement traveling the world.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is I will sleep when I die. Life is short so enjoy it now. I love showing my son the beauty in the world and how to deal with the not so beautiful. The human mind fascinates me. I work to try and understand the cruelty that comes out of some people and how that can be changed. I believe in total honesty with tact, integrity, and open communication.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love couch surfing. It is such a great way to travel, make new friends, and see interesting places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have mostly couch surfed with friends, but did recently venture out on my own and it was an incredible experience. I look forward to using it more often.

Interests

I love visiting places I have never been regardless of where that might be. If the opportunity presents itself, I will go. I also visit friends and family anywhere I am invited. Sometimes my adventures are family oriented with my son and sometimes they are just getaways for me. I love historical sites, museums, art exhibits, music of all types, vegan restaurants, flowers, beautiful scenery and homes, wildlife, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will watch just about any movie. I loved MASH and Shrek. I listen to all types of music, but particularly classic rock and opera. I love Conan books and have been reading them for over 30 years. I am also fascinated by Civil War stories, Anne Rice, and Stephen King.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Successfully single parented a boy child into an outstanding young man.

I retired from the military after 39.5 years and have great experiences to share. I have traveled all over the world, but there are many places left to visit so want to hear from others about places I haven't been and what it takes to get there.
