About Me

I'm a passionately curious person who wants to know as much as life can possible give. I'm a little bit of a nerd, always trying to learn something new. I'm a teacher at the Catholic University of São Paulo, on the matters of International finance and International economics, and a researcher on an important national institute of socioeconomical and statistical studies. I like pop culture, consume a lot of Netflix series (my bad), listen to different kinds of music rythims (but 80's hard rock are the best!). I love reading and I am trying to improve my photograph skills. I love to travel, even though it's something I just got able to do more recently. I love eating and love trying new flavours and tastes. I'm a cat person, altough I too have a dog which I love very much. I do like wine, but I'm a beer person. I am married since apr/2014, and my husband is the funniest and kindest person I know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am moving from a paradigme where travel was only about hotels and main turistic points to a whole new perspective to absorbe the local culture, to know places where only locals goes to, talk to people who has a different perspective of life, eat some real local (and cheap) food, and vice versa - I will be pleased to show some places I love in São Paulo, to give some tips and advices for people who wants to come here (and other places in Brazil that I may know a little thing about - is a big country).

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of musical styles, but my favorites are 80's hard rock, with special mention to: Kiss, Bon Jovi, Mr. Big, Def Leppard, Van Halen. I love Richie Kotzen - former guitar player from Mr Big and Poison, now as a solo player and singer, and with Paul Gilbert (Mr Big) and Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) on The Winery Dogs band. My brazilian music favorite style is Bossa Nova.
I love movies which lead us into a deep reflections. The one I'm obssessed with is the trilogy Before sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight.
I love literature and I am an obstinate reader. Among my last readings you will find David Foster Wallace, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Chimamanda Adichie, Kafka, Dostoievski, Tolstoi, Machado de Assis, and many others, including a lot of brazilian literature as well.
