UPDATE:

Hey I haven't updated this profile since 2006! And now its so vintage I've decided I'm going to leave it be for nostalgia sake. The good news is that most of these things are still true. I've traveled a lot more, couch surfed quite a bit, and now am a bonafide Anthropologist - yipee! Also, The housing part of the profile has been updated!

CURRENT MISSION

To introduce myself to differing world ideologies and cultural norms in hopes of establishing and modifying my own fundamental philosophy of existence.

ABOUT ME

The best way to get to know me is through a conversation. I try to appreciate all people I meet for their individuality and maintain respect for new and alternative ideas. I’m currently studying anthropology and I’m hoping to continue an anthropological path through grad school. I always enjoy experiencing new things and new people and through those experiences I try to understand my own purpose of being and find a meaningful philosophy of how to spend the rest of my time on this planet. I think that even the smallest of actions can grow to make great changes, and in the face of extreme opposition one must adhere to the truths they find in life, even if that means defying the mainstream.

On a simpler note, I really enjoy all sorts of different music. I’ve played drums now for about 7 years and have been in several bands – mostly classic rock or alternative, but my style varies depending on what beat fits best. I love to socialize, play music with good people and share stories and ideas about life and the world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I’ve just started participating in Couch Surfing and have yet to have my first guest – mainly because I don’t have a couch at the moment – but I think it is an awesome idea that will help to unite and understand people across the globe. I defiantly hope to participate more in the upcoming future.

Interests

I’m interested in all sorts of different things, I love playing music, being in outdoor spaces, and being with great people. But I suppose overall I’d say I’m interested in meeting new people, having new experiences, traveling, learning, and enjoying the time I have on earth.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m really into the genre of classic rock (mainly because that’s what I used to play with my band); all of the greats: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, The Doobie Brothers, ELP, ELO, Santana, etc. etc. But my tastes really span the spectrum and I now listen to music from all over,
Reggae, pop, folk, electronic, and on and on
– but lyrical quality usually helps.
