My name is Sami, I am 51 years old (but I feel I am still 25 :-))
After studying economics, international relations and political science in France, the USA and Denmark, I came back to my home country and settled in Beirut, Lebanon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I like to travel and meet people, and Couchsurfing is the perfect way for that...

Interests

Apart from travelling, I have many hobbies, one of them being kite making and kite flying. This hobby allowed me to travel to many parts of the world, as I am regularly invited as guest of international kite festivals to represent Lebanon.

I like very much sports, specially water sports like swimming, sailing, wind surfing, kite surfing, water skiing, canooeing , diving... but also biking, mono cycling, juggling, skateboarding/wave boarding, paragliding, tennis, table tennis...

Music, Movies, and Books

The Beatles and other 60's, 70's and 80's songs...
French songs mainly songs from poets like Georges Brassens or Jacques Brel...
But I am easy going, and any kind of music is OK for me...

I am particularly attracted by music instruments, and I have a nice collection of instruments that I collect during my travels, even if I don't know how to play all of them... :-)

As for movies, there are many I like, among which: The Party with Peter Sellers, Brazil, The Blues Brothers, Star Wars....

I like to read when I have time... I have a huge collection of French comics, with over 1500 books...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like doing things that are not very common, like kite surfing, travelling to remote places that are not too much crowded with tourists...

I like sport challenges, like a 10 hours canoeing in the sea from a city to another, or a jump alone with a paraglider from an altitude of 1800 m, all the way to the beach in oludeniz, Turkey...
