About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Packing as little as possible so I can bring more stuff home.
ABOUT ME
I'm a anthropology and film student. I'd like to make a travel show for students who like to camp, paint, take pictures, dance and drink with friends they once called strangers. I'd also like to work for Sesame Street, they have a fascinating and globaly aware company.
I really enjoy camping and backpacking. I'm constantly waiting for another chance to use my back pack and new tent. I like to climb rocks (as I'm not yet proficient enough to confidently call myself a 'rock climber').
I'm a part time stage hand doing anything from changing bulbs at junior high schools to helping construct U2's Revolve tour at the Dallas Cowboys stadium.
PHILOSOPHY
"There's treasure EVERYWHERE!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like getting lost. Well as long as it's not down a dark alley.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was in London and my family and I seemed to be trapped in an endless cycle of tourist magnets. Luckily, I heard about CS about a week before we left and was able to line up a meeting with a girl who took my sister and I far away from typical tourist shlepping and into a part of town we never would have found without her. (Rick Steves never mentioned ANY of this). We boogied on a light up disco dance floor in the basement of a neon club. We saw the filming of a popular BBC television program in a foggy back alley. We were wrapped in caution tape by her party happy flat mate...? and we made it on the last tube back to the hotel... just in time! It was the first time I've ever felt like I was really taking advantage of traveling abroad.
Interests
Anthropology, history, film, geology, art, crowded town centers, flee markets, cooking and eating new food... I love the outdoors. Yoga and riding bikes are also great pass times... And pancakes with raspberries.

Music, Movies, and Books
"Ishmael" and "The Story of B" by Daniel Quinn are my new favorite books. I also like dictionaries and encyclopedias...
"Children of Men" and "Slum dog Millionair" are in my top-5 movies, but they're pretty heavy. My collection also includes the Wes Anderson flicks, Ninja Turtles classics, a few Focus Features and a slew of others.
My taste in music is fairly inconsistent, but I have a tendency to benge on bands for a few weeks or more. It's been some time now since I've changed my Pandora station (internet radio, don't have it? Check it out.) from "Ghostland Observatory radio". It's playing things like Phoenix, MGMT, Justice, Goldfrapp, Copy, Polish Ambassador, Band of Horses and my favorite, Modest Mouse. In general I listen to anything from Keith Jarrett's organ music to Rage Against the Machine.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For New Years once, my family and I made it to Amsterdam. Simply put, a person has never celebrated New Year's Eve until they've dodged fireworks in the winding streets of that city or watched a group of drunken merry makers sacrifice their dead Christmas trees and old couches to one of the many bon-fires in the squares. I can hardly wait until the experience is topped by another; that adventure will surly be explosive!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very interested in creating community art work. It is fascinating to watch a painting evolve when there is more than one mind behind it.
I'm a pretty good cook, but I'm still learning. My favorite thing to make is root beer pulled pork. My chicken dishes always turn out pretty exciting and it may sound old-hat, but my tuna salad is pretty delicious (not to boast as it's quite simple). Cooking food together is largely like creating community art... only far more delicious!
