About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel, explore the diversity of offerings in outdoor ed, and love others well.
ABOUT ME
My name is Sam. I'm simply a man. I'm a motivated guy who takes great joy in doing things well. I love cooking and baking things for the express purpose of sharing. I'm easy going, not easily flustered, and am always down to explore. I love people, good brews, quiet moments, listening and being heard, interesting conversation, dogs (oh god), traveling, breathing, and other similarly wonderful things.
PHILOSOPHY
God doesn't seem necessary, but that does not preclude existence. I attempt to derive my own meaning based on my ability to increase the wellness of others.
I also believe that I'm a product. I am the result of my parents and the various outpourings of others into my life. I can only be what has put in, so with that in mind I strive to incorporate worthwhile things into my personhood. That much I'm comfortable saying. Everything else is in transition.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can hang out with ya'll in the western mass area and certainly show you spots to camp out, and potentially put you up in my backyard. I travel too so I hope to be shown around the world by locals!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Montreal, Canada and Atlanta, GA and both were awesome.
Interests
Stories! Mine and others'. Various outdoor pursuits - backpacking, climbing, and water sports. Kids are wonderful too with their intact imaginations. Russian lit is a current fix - Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky are brilliant. I love learning how to prepare and preserve my own food (dairy, bread, canning, gardening, composting and the like). Attaining new knowledge via the process of discovery is so exhilarating! Video games are a guilty pleasure. I basically just love to be, and I think I'm happiest and most at peace when I'm in transition.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first time I heard a sea gull dropping mussels against the rocks to open them. Watching bread yeast do its thing is always really exciting too.
