Overview
About Me
I am a person with a passion for social justice and ecological resilience. After many years of being quite rootless I have finally settled down to build community and explore my love for everyday life. Me and my partner live in a very small house 35 min outside Göteborg and we'd love to host people, but you have to be pretty tough - the house is not the most comfortable place to stay, especially in winter. It is fairly cold, pretty small and doesn't yet have hot running water. We're working on improving it, bit by bit, trying to make it as eco-friendly as possible.
I believe in the richness of human connection, in facing your problems head on when you can and always seeking to expand your knowledge, your compassion and your trust.
I'm a politically pretty far left, I'm a feminist, I bin dive for food, I'm concerned with social justice and I compost my vegetable scraps. I have a passion for sustainable food systems and environmental justice!
Sexism, any form of queerphobia (homphobia or transphobia etc.) and racism will not be tolerated in my home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to meet new people, I always love a good discussion and like to help out a fellow traveller in need!
I've hitchhiked from Brighton (UK) to Amsterdam, Berlin and Gothenburg (Sweden) twice - thank you so much to everyone that hosted me and gave me a ride! It was hard and it was a great lesson in trust and shrewdness.
I've couchsurfed in Gent, I've been in home-stays in India, slept in bunk beds with voluntary organisations, wild camped in Sweden, slept on a sofa in Italy and Switzerland and slept under a hedge while hitch-hiking. I can sleep pretty much anywhere, good company makes up for any physical discomfort!

Music, Movies, and Books
Brave New World fascinated me, Hunger Games got me back into reading after a long break, The Casual Vacancy is a good social commentary, and The Hours is the best book I have read in a long while!
My favourite movie is The Matrix. I also like a whole bunch of "low-brow" movies like Avengers, The Heat, Juno and Frozen. I'm not the type that watches French independent cinema on a night in (although I do enjoy them occasionally).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen the Indian Himalayas. It's still the most beautiful place I've been to.
Teach, Learn, Share
I bake awesome cake (vegan and non-vegan) and cook really tasty vegetarian/vegan food. I know basic web design and SEO, how to design a social research project and I know how to write a good critical essay.
What I Can Share with Hosts
