Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Studying abroad in Spain and trying to travel a few more places on a budget while I'm abroad! Excited to get to know different cities, and to have a local who can point me in the right direction and give me some suggestions wherever I'm staying. I'm easy-going and want to get a good feel for the cities I travel to--and what better way than with a local?? I'd love to hang out with you and have you show me around or take me to your favorite spots. But if your'e busy, just pointing me in the right direction to some good food/sightseeing works for me as well!

Interests

-Skiing: mostly just casual skiing, I'm not one to do jumps and tricks--although I wish I could! Also mostly downhill, although I've done XC once and loved it too.

-Hiking: Did my first backpacking trip this summer and loved it. But I love casual day hikes. I even love urban hikes (walking around a city).

-Boating: waterskiing, just enjoying the sun, swimming, etc.

-Sightseeing: famous monuments, movie sets, famous stores, etc.

-Running: I've done 4 half marathons, but I'm waaaaay out of running shape right now since being in Europe for the last 4 months. Yikes.

-Tea: I LOVE a good cup of tea on a cold day.

-People: I'm a people person.

- Currently in love w PODCASTS! I have a lot of time on trains/busses/planes so I've been listening to tons of podcasts (my favorites are Stuff You Should Know, Sawbones, The Complete Guide to Everything, Stuff To Blow Your Mind, etc etc)

- I do enjoy partying, clubbing, etc. but haven't been doing too much of it since I've been in Europe. It's usually expensive and I can't fit nice dressy clothes to go out in my backpack with me. But I'm not too upset about it. A casual night at a pub is just as good, if not better.

But, I like most things, I honestly can't remember the last time I did something that I didn't enjoy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I enjoy all kinds of music (ok, maybe not so much scream-o or metal) anything from EDM to folk to country to classical and everything in-between.

Books: I'm gonna have to go with the Harry Potter series. It's basically my entire childhood.

Movies: not a huge fan of the make-you-cry kind of movies (no Nicholas Sparks for me), also not a big fan of scary movies except around Halloween. Other than that, I'm game for anything! Love comedies--anything Will Ferrel. Forrest Gump ranks up there.
