About Me

Hey Couchsurfers! My name is Sammie and I'm a multi-disciplinary artist living in Brooklyn, New York.

What I love
Good conversation, meeting new people, painting, going out, live music, museums, nature (especially oceans, mountains, jungles, and gardens), chilling on the beach, surfing, camping, dancing, exploring new cultures, nomadic lifestyles, collaborating and brainstorming, any art projects, photography, kids, animals, reading, learning, and trying new things.

What I do
I'm on track to study Human Rights Law and use art and policy to change the world for the better. At the moment, I am a volunteer for tutoring/street outreach organizations, I bartend, teach yoga, and I work at a media production company. (It takes a lot to live here!)

Philosophy
I believe in being kind and reducing your negative influence in the world. We can all waste less, smile more, and learn to enjoy sharing. My life is about giving what I can, and being grateful for what I am given. Creative expression and meaningful communication is at the core of my existence. You only get one life, so I'd like to make mine the best it can possibly be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to give people the opportunity to stay in an awesome artistic home in Brooklyn and show them some of the culture I know and love about this place.

I also want to have the opportunity to travel on a budget and get an insider view to other cultures I'm interested in!
