I was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and raised in Canada. I met my wonderful Brazilian-born wife, Polly, in Toronto 20 years ago. We live on a nice 10-acre property just north of Toronto with our 5 kids (boy/girl twins, 13, girl/boy twins, 10, and a girl, 6), a Doberman (he's friendly to nice people), and a cat.

Our kids are intelligent, inquisitive, accomplished, active, and, most importantly for travellers, well-behaved and respectful. They speak English, Portuguese, and French.

We have the benefits of country living, but are only minutes from all that a modern city has to offer (e.g. Newmarket is only 15 min west of us and Toronto is 60 min south).

My wife, Polly, and I love to travel and have been to many places, both before we had kids and during. Between us, we've been to over 30 countries on 5 continents. We also travel extensively throughout Canada and the US in our motorhome. Our business is online, so we can work from anywhere - and do!

We love to meet new people and learn from them and share about ourselves. In our house, we speak English (mostly), Portuguese (a lot ), and French (sometimes). Our 13-year-old twins spent 9 weeks earlier this year in the French Alps area with two French families on a student exchange, so their almost-perfect French is now perfect :)

People love to visit us (so they tell us) and that we're easy going (albeit active) and accommodating.

Drove 6,700 km from Toronto to Inuvik, Northwest Territories, then flew to Tuktoyaktuk, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean. Dipped my toes in it (beyond cold).
