About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm currently travelling around Germany (possibly other European countries) to broaden my views, improve my language skills, push myself in ways I didn't know I needed to pushed and generally meeting amazing people.

ABOUT ME

I like to think of myself as a very friendly open person. I can be very talkative and love nothing more than a good conversation. I love finding out about people's lives and their perspectives on the world. I enjoy being in the company of others and normally find it pretty easy to slip into social situations.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't really have much of a complicated philosophy, I simply try to live by treating others as I would like to be treated and attempting to view the world from different perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think cleaning up after myself is easily the least I can do, so I will be more than happy to help cook (or cook a meal altogether). I'd love to have conversations with my hosts, but I'm more than happy to do my own thing and let them do theirs too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not had any official couch surfing experiences yet, but I'd love to change that.

Interests

I'm interested in reading fiction, stuff like Kurt Vonnegut, Stephen King, Ursula K. Le Guin, Ray Bradbury and generally just sci-fi/dystopian/utopian fiction. One of my main passions in life is gaming, I love playing video games, discussing them and writing about them. I also play a bit of guitar, and I know a few beats on the drums but I'm definitely keen to learn more. I'm also very keen to learn languages and I love teaching people about English and helping them to improve their own skills too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: anything by Tarantino, Oldboy, 500 Days of Summer, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 180 By South, King of Kong etc.
Music: I'm an unbelievable mega-super fan of Modest Mouse and I'm very much into the post hardcore/emo scene in the UK and the US such as Empire! Empire!, Nai Harvest, and Dads. I'm big into math rock bands such as Maps & Atlases, Dios Trio, Invalids and Rooftops. I also like chilled out folk music/rock such as Ben Howard, The Tallest Man on Earth and Bombay Bicycle Club.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I've done in my life was cliff diving in Arizona in the summer of 2012. Me and two friends jumped from a 35-40ft high cliff into a lush blue lake after sleeping on a beach in a national park.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't have anything practical that I can teach you, but I am more than happy to help you with learning/improving English. If possible I'd happily teach you what I know about playing guitar. I'd love to discuss literature, films and games.
