Hey I'm Sammy I'm 23 and in love with travel. I believe it's the best way to get to know yourself and the world around us. I'm super laid back, easy going, relaxed and up for anything. I'm generally always happy, out going and very bubbly. I love exploring new places by getting immersed in the culture, losing myself in little alley ways and forest tracks, not just when travelling but also at home! I'm always up for a drink, love food and am happy to cook us up a feast!

Over the last couple of years, together with my boyfriend we have spent 4 months travelling all over Europe, a month in South East Asia and a month in New Zealand and then I did a month throughout the UK solo. We just finished travelling South and Central America for 5 months, an are now travelling around the States before moving to Canada for a couple of years (hopefully!) So we are full of incredible stories and memories we just love to share!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There's no better way to travel then to meet the locals, learn the language, the culture and see all the hidden treasures of a town.
I want to meet people, learn the true way of life in a country. I don't want to travel around and just see all the tourists spots I could look at by googling a place, I want to experience the local way, learn about each cities hidden beauties, the cultures, the foods, the sights!
And I want to meet people, that I can't wait to invite to my house when I get home. To show them how a central coast girl lives, take them to the hidden secrets around the central coast and Sydney (trust me there's lots!) and really just make a life lifelong friend in the process!

Interests

I love the beach, being out doors and exploring. I love exploring hidden streets, forests, and just the unknown.
I love being with friends, having a BBQ and a couple beers by the pool.
I also love curling up with a glass of red, or a warm tea, and getting lost inside the world of a book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sky diving - the complete freedom you feel as you fall freely from 14000ft in the air above the ocean is so exhilarating. And the happiness you feel for having challenged yourself, overcoming gear and done it afterwards is amazing!!

Climbing a volcano in Chile, as another volcano beside us erupted, was an incredibly surreal and challenging experience, and then to then find out I did it all with pneumonia made it even more incredible that I'd managed it!

My number one highlight would have to be watching a volcano erupt, spurting lava into the sky, from the base of it, in a volcano observatory with a volcanologist and geologist. There's no words to describe this experience!!
