About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Some genius said: «Happiness is not having what you want. It is wanting what you have.» I agree.

ABOUT ME

I think that this can suit to me: "One always finds one's burden again. But Sisyphus teaches the higher fidelity that negates the gods and raises rocks. He too concludes that all is well. This universe henceforth without a master seems to him neither sterile nor futile. Each atom of that stone, each mineral flake of that night filled mountain, in itself forms a world. The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy."

PHILOSOPHY

My favourite quotes:
"Festina lente" (Make haste slowly) - Aldo Manuzio
"Beautiful is what we see. More beautiful is what we understand. Most beautiful is what we do not know" - Nicolas Steno
"People who get up early in the morning cause death, famine and war" - Banksy

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of anglosaxon music from the Sixties to nowadays.
Movies from all the countries of the world, from Miyasaki to Kaurismaki, from Kubrick to Tim Burton, from Fellini to Truffaut. And documentaries also.
I like books too. Fiction and non-fiction. Most of all: American, English, French and Northern Europe literature. I try to read some philosophy when I feel like. Last year's books I loved: Albert Camus, Raymond Chandler, Dino Buzzati, Malcolm Braly, Arnon Grunberg, Jonathan Lethem, Stig Dagerman, Egon Bondy...
Theater: sometimes (Camus, Brecht...)
Art: sometimes (Rembrandt, Hopper, Magritte...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done: Winter 2006. After a Two Gallants gig in Bologna, I accessed the dressing room and forced the two members of the band to sing with me my favourite song, that they didn't play that night. Alcohol helped me.
Seen: Summer 2007. I've seen the birth of a romance in the seats next to me in a transatlantic flight. I couldn't sleep but it's been an amazing third person experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach: A big fat pasta alla carbonara (my favourite dish) for two people. Mix up together in a bowl 2 eggs, 100 gr of parmigiano, and 1 dl of fresh cream until all ingredients are completely melted. Cook 100 gr of bacon in a pan until it's very golden. Cook pasta very "al dente" in a pot (put pasta in the water only when you see it's clearly boiling after you added salt). When everything's ready mix it all together in a separate bowl adding some blak pepper and parmigiano again on top. Serve it! People will love you.
I want to learn: surprise me!
