I want to make independent movies that are wildly successful. I often like to travel around in search of inspiration for stories to tell.

ABOUT ME

I live in New Orleans. I opened a little arthouse cinema with my sister called Indywood. We opened Indywood to explore new avenues for distributing indie films using the tools of the 21st Century.

Beyond movies, I like to play banjo on the porch, dance in the streets, sing in the fog and eat breakfast fajitas in the morning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed all through the North Western USA in the summer of 2010. I had a great time.

In the spring of 2012 I couchsurfed in Paris.

I love couchsurfing. It the internet used to its fullest and most benevolent potential.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was at this farm where you could "kiss a camel" by putting a piece of fruit in your mouth. Of course I had to try it. I didn't realize, though, that the camel was surrounded by an electric fence. I don't remember how it happened, but I must have touched the fence right when the camel put his lips on the orange slice in my mouth. We both shot backward, the camel bucking onto its hind legs and letting out a guttural roar. I fell to the ground. I didn't know what had happened at first, but it became clear after my mind stopped buzzing. I had electrocuted the camel while kissing it. And this story is a real tragedy, because the camel wouldn't kiss anyone after that.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to break down the 3-Act structure of your movie.

If you'd like to start your own business (particularly a movie theater) I have a lot of useful knowledge about that stuff.

I always like to learn more about cooking and music. I'm pretty new to both of those crafts, and I always want to learn more!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I make a pretty mean breakfast, if I do say so myself.

So I'm always good for that. I can also share a lot of great stories about New Orleans--both its history and its current renaissance.

I also have all the necessary gear for making movies on the go. So if you want to make a short music video or something, I'm way down!

I can also bring you a couple free tickets to Indywood (plus free popcorn) and an Indywood T-shirt, if you'd like that.
