Overview
About Me
Im an artsy, performance artist that loves to walk, bike, try new food, and make others laugh. I live my life to create true expressions of myself through songs, videos, dances, and 3D animation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have never left in America all of my life. I feel I have seen a lot of this country and I believe it is time to experience and learn about the rest of the world. I seek new perspective.
Interests
First and foremost I am an active person so in general I like being outside, exploring parts of my city I'm unfamiliar with, taking walks in the woods, and skateboarding. When I'm not out biking around my city for leisure or work ( I'm a bike messenger) I can usually be found at home making videos or music on my computer. I have a small studio at home with an array of guitars, percussion, and synthesizers that I take joy in playing with every day. I love jamming out with local musician friends as well. More recently I have become very involved in the dance/acrobatic-yoga community in my city. I love freely expressing myself through movement, to the point where I have begun street performing. Finally I love to cook, especially stir-fry!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a fan of older experimental and psychedelic rock like The Byrds, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Jimi Hendrix, T-rex, and Frank Zappa. As far as new music goes I like Justice, Animal Collective, Hot Chip, Flying Lotus, Flaming Lips, Caribou, OKGO. Basically any music that mixes electronic and live music in an interesting way.
Some of my favorite films are 2001: A Space Odyssey, Raging Bull, The Royal Tennenbaums, The Science Of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, and any Quinten Tarrintino film.
I don't really read fiction books lately but I love reading books on recording sound, mixing sound, and music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I played the part of a man who had a giant thumb for a head in a friends film project. The projects crew consisted of me Ryan and the camera man Xinhao Liang. The thumb head was a 400 dollar latex mask with no air holes. The experience of wearing the mask was horrible but after we finished the film Ryan sent the film to festivals and I am proud to say that the film will be featured in film festivals around the world. We even got the dance scene from the film on a MTV program in Germany!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I feel I can bring positive attitude into a household. I try to maintain an heir of excitement as I go about my days business and I feel that kind of attitude is contagious. I have a pretty strong background in teaching improvisational dance, music, and art so If a host wanted to let their creative side out I am here to help!I have been raised to be respectful of others and their property, tidy, and grateful for things I am being given. On the note of being tidy I would of course be more then happy to help around the house with cleaning, cooking, etc.
