Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To house and host cool people who want to see a very special area in Northern California.
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Chico, California and I just love the area so much. Recently, my girlfriend Cassie, originally from Cleveland, Ohio, moved here to be with me and now we are both living and working here in Chico. I work at the Sierra Nevada Brewery and she works for the State Parks.
PHILOSOPHY
I think a good basic philosophy is to simply have faith in the world. And remembering that it's who we are that makes society what it is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I greatly enjoy the community that websites like couchsurfing and warmshowers create; bringing people of like mind and intention together to make - as cheesy as this sounds - our dreams come true.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed while travelling through the Hawaiian islands back in 2011, in Seattle, WA, and again recently throughout Europe with Cassie in 2017. I absolutely love the community of people I get exposed to and the quality of experience that is (usually) awarded. I really enjoy hosting as well. All around it's just a great way to meet the extended family, ya know?
Interests
I sing and play music. I am an admirer of and at one time performer of theater. I read a lot of books, usually non-fiction. I enjoy community gatherings and time spent with my amazing friends and family.
Music, Movies, and Books
The Recordings of Alan Lomax.
Samsara, Planet Earth, Tropic Thunder, The Sandlot, Big Trouble in Little China, There Will Be Blood...
The Account of Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca, Cat's Cradle, 100 Years of Solitude, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was on a 45ft sailboat out in the Caribbean Ocean during a 50 knot wind with 15 ft. waves. It was my first sailing experience ever. Our mast broke, our engine died, and we were stranded for two nights before being towed in to the Cayman Islands.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a pretty good consortium of random facts I could share with you if you happen to jog my brain in the right way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I imagine that we would have some pretty good stories to share with one another. I love listening to people's stories. If you play music, we can share some songs. We can trade off telling jokes or riddles if you like. I suppose good company is sort of its own reward.
