About Me
Hello, Hola, Bonjour, Hallo, Ciao, Olá, 你好 (Nǐ hǎo), こんにちは (Konnichiwa), Здравствуйте (Zdravstvuyte), Hej, สวัสดี (Sawatdee), Xin chào, Namaste
I frequently travel and am often away from home, which means I am unable to accommodate last-minute requests unless I happen to be in Davao City at the time of your request. It's best to make your request in advance, ideally about a week before your planned arrival. However, there may be occasions when even with advanced notice, unforeseen circumstances prevent me from hosting.
Facts about me:
1. Hungry 24/7
2. Wanderer 24/7
If you'd like to connect in advance and explore my travel experiences through photos, feel free to check out or follow my Instagram account (I always follow back, no worries): https://www.instagram.com/samssaban/
If you're interested in being hosted or have any inquiries about the Philippines and Davao City (like suggestions on activities or places to visit), and I haven't responded within 24 hours here on Couchsurfing, please feel free to reach out to me on WhatsApp. We all know Couchsurfing isn't the best at providing notifications! 🤣 WhatsApp number: +639052504518
Occasionally, I may become occupied and forget to check WhatsApp messages, so if you're interested in discovering the top-visited places in Davao, please visit this website: https://www.thecrazytourist.com/26-best-things-davao-philippines/ (credit to Jan of The Crazy Tourist). Additionally, you can download TripAdvisor and search for Davao to explore more recommendations."

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, a field affectionately referred to as the "Vampires" 💉🧛🏻♂️🤣. For now, that's all the information you need to know about me. 😉
Those who know me often describe me as:
1. Compassionate
2. Trustworthy
3. Approachable
4. Humorous
5. Adventurous
6. Sociable
If you're curious to learn more, because believe me, there's plenty more to discover, let's hang out and/or host me! 😜
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have a strong desire to connect with new people and expand my circle of friends. Building friendships across the globe is incredibly fulfilling to me because it means that wherever I travel, I'll have the opportunity to reunite with familiar faces and forge new memories. Likewise, I find joy in extending the same hospitality to others when they venture into my homeland, the Philippines. Serving as a guide and sharing the beauty and culture of my country with visiting friends brings me immense pleasure. Lastly, fostering these international friendships not only enriches my life but also creates lasting bonds that transcend international boundaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are numerous remarkable experiences I've had, but I'll share two significant ones:
(1) When I was 17 years old, I had the incredible opportunity to represent the Philippines as an exchange student in the United States of America, where I was hosted in Chicago, Illinois. It was truly a chance to live out the American dream and immerse myself in a new culture.
(2) At the age of 18, I began pondering how I could make a positive impact in my community. This led me to conceive a community project aimed at assisting out-of-school children. After carefully planning and executing the project, I was able to provide full scholarships to 15 children whose families were unable to support their education any longer, enabling them to complete their grade school education.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm excited to offer to teach you not only basic Filipino (Tagalog) but also Visayan (Bisaya) words and phrases, which will undoubtedly enhance your experience during your stay here in the Philippines. I believe language is a bridge that connects cultures, and by learning some key phrases, you'll not only navigate your way around more easily but also forge deeper connections with the locals.
Moreover, I'm enthusiastic about the prospect of co-learning with you! Yes, you! I'm genuinely interested in learning into your culture, hearing about your travel experiences, learning about your work, understanding your personal preferences, and exploring your life choices.
I believe that through this exchange, we can both gain valuable insights, broaden our perspectives, and foster a deeper understanding of each other's backgrounds. Our conversations will be rich with shared stories, experiences, and mutual learning opportunities that will undoubtedly make our time together all the more meaningful.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As your house guest, one of the first things I'm excited to share with you is the rich culture of the Philippines. I'll gladly immerse us in the flavors of local cuisine by treating us to some local delicacies, whether it's through cooking a traditional dish or exploring authentic eateries in the area. I'm passionate about experiencing the culinary delights of every country I visit, and I believe that sharing meals is a wonderful way to bond and create lasting memories.
Furthermore, I understand the importance of maintaining a clean and organized living space, so you can count on me to help with household chores and ensure that everything is kept tidy during my stay. I pride myself on being flexible and adaptable, which means I'm more than willing to accommodate any house rules or preferences you may have.
In addition, as a token of appreciation for your hospitality, I always make it a point to bring a small gift from my country as a gesture of gratitude. It could be a trinket, a souvenir, or something culturally significant that represents the beauty and diversity of the Philippines.
However, I must confess, that while I'm eager to introduce you to the flavors of Filipino cuisine, I'm not exactly a culinary expert myself! 🤭🤣 So, as much as I'd love to cook up a storm in the kitchen, I must admit that my cooking skills leave much to be desired. But hey, we can always explore local restaurants or try out some easy-to-make local snacks together instead!
