My name is Sam and I'm an American filmmaker currently based in Medellin, Colombia but oftentimes you can find me in New York City or Los Angeles, California - I travel a lot for work!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I love traveling - and in 2018 I backpacked through Central and South America for 6 months! I also travel for work often and when I was younger hitchhiked and road tripped across the united states several times. A lot of awesome people helped me along the way with places to stay when I was traveling so I'd like to do the same now! I also love meeting interesting people and am happy to give recommendations of cool places to check out while in Colombia! I love having Couchsurfing guests, but please keep in mind that my work schedule can be crazy sometimes and if I'm on a project I might not be able to hang out that much, so please keep that in mind, but if you stay and I'm not working, I'm super happy to hang out!

Música, películas y libros

I love all kinds of music. I have a record player and like to just buy some dollar records and listen to them all the way through. I love documentaries - some of the best I've seen are Searching for Sugarman, The Men Who Stare at Goats (and anything by Jon Ronson), I love Jim Jarmusch's films like Night on Earth and Ghost Dog. I also dig anime like Spirited Away, Akira, My Neighbor Totoro, Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist, Demon Slayer, and stuff like that (I'm kind of an anime nerd lol). I like books by Jack Kerouac, Bukowski, Jon Ronson, James Baldwin. I love Joe Rogan podcast too! Also a big fan of comedy!
