About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To go where no man has gone before, I came close when I lived in the Amazonian tribe but I think I can do better

ABOUT ME

All about me...Hmmm...

I am a opera singing student who works at a nuclear reactor on campus. I have always been one to challenge the status quo and never say no to a challenge. My family moved quite a bit as a child and I traveled even more once I got into college. I can now say I have lived on every continent but Australia and Antarctica.

I have fun in life by getting completely lost in big cities to force myself to learn the basics of a language and realize the true culture I am experiencing. Although I have had McDonald's fries in every country I have visited just for the comparison I try to never eat anything but the local cuisine.

I am a gay young man but that doesn't change anything when it comes to friendships. I have straight and gay friends all over the world and as long as you accept me for who I am then we will get along just fine.

PHILOSOPHY

Let it be, let it be...

Great words to live by if you ask me.

You don't have to accept me you just have to respect me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am always ready to lend a helping hand.

VERY VERY IMPORTANT:

I accept LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) couchsurfers and will actually give them preference over other requests because I have been turned down by so many hosts because "I don't host your kind". WELL I DO! I am open and accepting (and gay) but most of all I want you to feel comfortable when I host you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I didn't use CouchSurfing originally since I already had friends on most continents. However, now that I am getting involved with CS I intend to surf as often as possible.

I have also surfed in beautiful Paris and Brussels on one of my European nuclear conference trips!

One of my favorite experiences occurred when I was in China. I was living in Shanghai but was visiting Beijing for the weekend. I met Shang Li and she was so great! She took me all over the city and helped me find the best places for local food and fun. Not to mention she tried to make our time half-English, half-Mandarin so I could work on my language skills.

Interests

Music - most types, I am a singer but I also play violin, French horn, and piano with my latest challenge being the Chinese Erhu (a type of vertical violin).

I also love reading and writing. I have composed two symphonies inspired by poetry and am half way through an opera titled "The Figaro of Fusion"

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Sci-Fi movies as well as the occasional Chick Flick. Latest one I enjoy is Moulin Rouge, watched it three times this week.

I adore classical music since it's my major but you'll always here my car cranked to the Top 20 in Pop. I know all their lyrics and keep very current on my Top Pop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I won second place in the International Arts Festival in Shanghai for my performance of a Figaro aria to an audience of hundreds of millions.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach languages that I know and want to learn languages that I don't know.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Japan, Luxembourg, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Bolivia, China, South Africa, United States
