About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Life is too short. But if you live it right, one is enough."

ABOUT ME

I love every aspect of globalization, especially international businesses and cultures. I am full of energy, thoughtfulness, and a little flare of sarcasm. Knowledge keeps me alive because I always find the joy in understanding and appreciating other perspectives rather than mine.

PHILOSOPHY

"Vạn sự tùy duyên" - What meant to be will be....

"Je vis ma vie, à ma façon" - Live my life, my way...

"O mundo é um livro e quem não viaja só lê uma página" - The world is a book, and who doesn't travel only reads one page

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just randomly read some articles about a backpacker and got hooked with the idea

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Welcomed by two different hosts in Atlanta for the first time and enjoyed it very much.

Spring & Fall 2019, my two very special experiences were with Rosario in Santiago, Chile, and also Danny & Guillermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I still keep in touch up with them until now.

Winter 2021 - Spent time with a Quebecois family in Montreal - eating poutine, touring Mt. Royal, and snow-tubing in Piedmont

Fall 2022 - Unforgettable moments in Calgary, Alberta with my first-ever Vietnamese host, Luan :)

Winter 2022 - Experienced funky "Dans le noir' (eat in the dark) in Le Marais, Paris

Interests

An interesting book or movie will keep me engaged. I spend most of my time searching about travel and learning languages. Dancing and listening to music are my stress-released tools.

Music, Movies, and Books

Smooth Jazz (Norah Jones, Louis Armstrong), Salsa (Celia Cruz, Marc Anthony), Bachata(Romeo Santos), Bossa Nova (Bebel Gilberto), Brazilian Funk (Anita), Hip Hop (Megan Thee Stallions, R-Kelly), French Hip Hop (Aya Nakamura),Afrobeats (Wizkid, Rema, Ayra Starr, Tems...), and عربي (Mohammed Saeed, Saad Lamjarred) are in the mix.

I enjoy business books from entrepreneurship to investing strategies. Traveling and foreign-language books (especially Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese) take a big part of my book shelf.

"Me Before You" & "The Star Was Born," pushed through human connection.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Turkish Bath in Hurrem Sultan Hamam, Istanbul

Biked over 100 kilometers all around Lima, the capital of Peru.

Spoke only melodic Portuguese for a whole month in Brazil.

Spent 6 days of hiking the W trek within Torres Del Paine, Patagonia

Participated in the 40-year revolution parade of Nicaragua- bus and truck hopping in Managua

Went to feria (open door market) in Buenos Aires and learnt how the locals shop - amazing cheese and pastrami products.

Snow-tubing for the first time in a suburban area of Montreal, Quebec Province

Showed Luan, my host, how to "salsa" and "bachata" in Rio club, in Calgary!

Spoke mostly Quebecois French while living in Montreal 2022-2024

Camped in Saharan Desert of Morroco and picked up some Darija Arabic

Hiked Tombstone Territorial Park, Yukon (Patagonia of the North)

Teach, Learn, Share

This is the beginnings of the future Couchsurfing University where everyone is a teacher and student at the same time. Surfing isn't just about a place to crash, but an inter-exchange platform. From theory to practical skills, I may have some special knowledge that others will benefit from knowing.

I use 4 languages interchangeably and am more than happy to communicate and learn more from you. French is my recent added language to master and communicate on regular basis :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Life stories, Curiosity in learning, Culture exchange, Positive energy, Dynamic outlooks in life, etc
