I was born in Ethiopia and I then immigrated to United States with my family when I was a kid. I grew up in Washington DC. I've lived in San Francisco and now live New York City.

I studies mechanical engineering in university and then environmental science and management in graduate school.

I love traveling and meeting people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that traveling without meeting local people doesn't feel right. I just don't want to be a tourist. I want to get a deeper understanding of the country's culture and there is no better way to do that than to couchsurf. I also want to make friends all over the world!

Interests

My #1 passion is traveling - meeting people, seeing new place, trying new foods, and learning about new cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've now visited over 60 countries and I plan on traveling more. :)

In those time, I've done quite a few amazing things;
See the Pyramids of Giza,
Visit Madagascar and see the Baobab trees,
Swim in the holy water of the Ganges river in India,
Sleeping in and driving a small van with my best friend along the Great Ocean Road in Australia,
many more and many more to follow.
