About Me

When it comes to style, I suppose I would say that I'm pretty "normcore". I don't try to do anything special that puts me into any kind of group.

I am nice and I like telling stupid jokes. I was a kindergarten teacher in China so I learned to really enjoy being silly. However, I'm also a nihilist studying political science so I also like having more serious conversations. Obvious mix right? :P

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some of my best friends are from hostels. I think people from other places are often more interesting than locals.

I'm going to be stuck in Ottawa for a while but I don't want to stop meeting new people so come on over! :)

Interests

For fun I like doing all sorts of stuff. This is it in order of preference: Board games, having drinks at home with friends, biking around town, swimming, going to the park, going to the bar... There's more that I like but I can't think of anything right now.

Music, Movies, and Books

For music I like Jose Gonzalez, Serge Gainsbourg, Midlake, Grizzly Bear, The Dead Weather, Jack White and a lot of Kpop.

I love every movie from the Coen Brothers, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Christopher Nolan and Pixar. I just watched the season finale of True Detective which I love.

I like reading but I can rarely finish a book. I genuinely do like the first half of books though! My favourite book is 1984. I know it's a very boring choice but it's popular because it's awesome. I also like books about politics and history. A good one is Bad Samaritans by Ha Joon Chang.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I owned part of a yoga studio in Zhengzhou, China.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about Canadian and international politics without feeling militant about anything.

Don't feel like you need to teach me anything. I'll enjoy learning whatever comes up!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll think of something :)
