About Me

I am currently a Civil Engineer at the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign. I am a Korean-American born in Baltimore, Maryland. I grew up in Naperville, IL. I grew up playing sports like soccer, football, swimming, basketball, taekwondo, and volleyball. My main hobby growing up was partaking in the nation's top music program as a high school student. I am blessed to be able to play 7 instruments at a high level at least. I am currently on the Men's Club Volleyball team at my university.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I believe that it is the most efficient, sentimental, and exciting way to travel. I want to meet new people that come from different backgrounds and discover new stories/ memories. I also believe that the best way to travel in a foreign area is to acquaint yourself with the locals!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide variety of music. I have a deep appreciation for classical music and jazz. I also love discovering music that is significant to their retrospective cultures. I enjoy listening to any kind of music ranging from EDM all the way to Broadway Musicals like Les Miserables.

Some of my favorite books include Ender's Game, How to Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, East of Eden, A Time to Kill, The Narnia series, and much more. I also enjoy reading stories about ancient mythology and stories about battles or wars.

I enjoy a variety of movies ranging from classics like Breakfast at Tiffany's all the way to comedies like Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to both Honduras and Tanzania to help provide engineering solutions to increase the quality of living for the native people that we were visiting. These engineering solutions include providing sustainable water source, protection from lions and hyenas, and new stoves that act as ventilation systems.
