Overview
About Me
I am an aspiring writer. I have just finished my degree at the university of Edinburgh. I travel from time to time, but invariably end up going between Edinburgh and Paris, which has become my second home. This is because I am not very adventurous or curious about the world (this is a fault). However, at some point I would like to explore further afield, to the east and the north, and one day to Asia and America. I travel mainly by hitch-hiking, because travelling for me is about the journey more than the destination. I enjoy the thrill of it, and all the interesting people you meet along the way. You meet people you would not normally come into contact with at home, people of varying backgrounds and professions. I like to get into deep discussions about life and art and 'philosophy', to share the things I have been thinking about recently, and see what other people think. Sometimes when I'm on the road things go wrong, but then I have good stories to tell afterwards. When I visit a city, I do not have a checklist of places I have to visit and take photos of. Instead I like to observe the lifestyle of the people who live there, immerse myself in it, and the architecture (everywhere, not just the famous buildings). I like to meet the locals and try (as much as a visitor ever can do) to experience it authentically. My passions are language and literature. I also enjoy music and the visual arts.
