About Me

First things first, I'm a nerd through and through. From fantasy and sci-fi novels, films, nostalgic action shows from my childhood, and the like to video games, board games, and table top RPG's (like D&D). I'm big in computers, audio production, music and the inter-workings of technological marvels.

That being said, I also thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, canoeing, one or two sports (Ultimate and recently Hurling) and have developed a love for travel.

I'd consider myself a open-minded and fairly easy-going individual with a curious interest in other cultures, traditions, and people. I love meeting others, hearing their stories and experiences.

I tend to listen a lot and unless it's one of the few areas I feel strongly about will likely take in all the information and opinions I can without pushing any of my own uneducated biases until I can form a complete opinion of the topic.

I've got too many interests and not enough determination to focus on and pursue any one alone. So I continue to travel and search for the next thing to occupy myself with for a time before I move on again.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love interacting with new people. Hearing new ideas, opinions, beliefs, and the like. I feel that finding and connecting on a deeper level with others along your travels is one of the most interesting, fun, and rewarding experiences you can have. It helps us all to understand one another better, become more aware of ourselves, and become better global citizens.

Interests

I've shared a lot in the 'about me' section already. I love to experience new things (always bad when you already have too many interests but what can I say) and meet cool people. I'm passionate about my interests and don't tend to get mixed up in politics and the like much (not saying ignoring it is the right thing to do either someone has to stand up now and then but I'm not gonna get into a big fuss about it).

Music, Movies, and Books

My musical interests are so diverse and seemingly random that there's little point in even trying to mention them but it's safe to say that there are very few genres that I absolutely abhor and even then given the right artist those rules an be broken.

Movies and books...fiction primarily. Think typical fantasy, superhero, sci-fi, action nerd and you've probably got most of it taken care of. I studied with lots of animation majors and being a digital media major I've a love for good effects and animation as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you've got tech or computer issues I can probably be of some help. Otherwise, I've got a few tricks in the kitchen and can share experiences from my travels. I'm always willing to teach a new board or card game if I can or help you work out your disc (Frisbee) tossing skills.
