About Me

Hi there!

I have really enjoyed my time on couchsurfing as a guest and as a host, what a great way to meet open and generous people!

A little about me: I am from the UK, love to travel, play music, socialise, cook and watch films. I'm English so of course I love tea in all it's forms! I have previously worked as a care worker in the UK and looking after children with special needs. During my time in Australia I have been working as an Au Pair.

I love nature and studied Marine Biology/Environmental Science at university. I always try to walk everywhere I can, you never know what you might find when exploring! I absolutely love the water and really enjoy freediving.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To experience places I visit in a completely different way and meet people along the way. I love the generosity of the people of couchsurfing and want to be a part of it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Have a soft spot for the Studio Ghibli films
Films: Lost in Translation, Clouds of Sils Maria, My Neighbour Totoro, loads more.

Books: I like reading a variety of books, quite often the classics. My current favourite is 100 years of solitude.

I enjoy a variety of music, especially jazz and well any music you can dance too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Live in Mozambique for a few months while researching the links between human behaviour and malaria!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a passion of cooking and enjoy sharing this with others. I always take every opportunity to learn more about food from other cultures and apply it in the kitchen at home.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A home cooked meal :-)
Discussions on my work in science (if this doesn't bore you)
Friendship and good company I hope!
