About Me

Hello everyone! 👋
I’m Samuel, I’m from Indonesia and I’m a young student living abroad, currently taking my master’s studies in Infrastructural Engineering in Hungary
I’m an open minded guy and am always curious in new things such as languages and cultures around the world!
I’ve been to many countries and I always try to learn some of their languages, such as German, French, Vietnam, and especially Hungarian since I am currently studying in Hungary, and Dutch due to my previous experience of my study exchange for 1 semester in Enschede, Netherlands. I’ve also lived in the United States for 5 years in my childhood.
My travel experience however is not due to the fact that I’m rich, it’s quite the opposite actually! I’m a minority in Indonesia, and was considered underprivileged, however due to hard work and dedication, all of my travel experience was through scholarships! That is how my father brought us into the United States when I was young, and I was motivated to do the same and work hard to find my own scholarships, and through the grace of God, I was successful in receiving a fully funded bachelor’s study exchange program to the Netherlands and my Master’s study to Hungary is also from a fully funded scholarship!
I’m still young now, so I want to get to know Europe more! The people, the culture, the cuisines, the traditions, and the experience is once in a lifetime opportunity and I want to learn and experience what it’s like.
I hope we can meet someday 👋

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any kind of music, whether it be world music, such as, All Time Low, Eminem, Indila & Stromae, Cigarettes After Sex, BTS & Twice, Alan Walker, Ed Sheeran & Charlie Puth, Coldplay, Fei Yu-ching, Ghost, Dead by April, Alan Walker, John Denver, Judika & Ada Band

I like movies with the genres of science fiction, such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, any kind of Marvel movies, horror films, Comedy films such as Ted and 21 Jump Street, Action films such as Hunger games, and Romance films. I also love to watch animated films such as Kung Fu Panda and Up

Although I don’t read books much, I’ve read some star wars books, hunger games books, and A song of Ice and Fire books (Game of Thrones)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love to walk and to cycle to which I never tire before I have to reach my goal! I consider myself to be a committed and courageous person, to which one amazing thing that I’ve done is I’ve cycled 80km in one day till the night! It was from Gyor (Hungary) to Dunajska Streda (Slovakia) which is 40km and went back by bicycling 40km. It took me about 8 hours for the whole journey since I took my time and was also resting along the way 😋

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn new things and I’m always excited to share and teach those new things to other people since I want for us to be productive and to be successful! I love motivating people that we are more than we are worth and we can do so much more since our potential is limitless if we are willing to learn! Hence, I always love helping people especially with scholarship documents such as essays and motivational letters, helping people in accessing more opportunities and giving them tips and tricks and suggestion based upon what I’ve previously learnt, build cooperation and critical thinking skills. I’m also patient with people learning and try to give the best advice that I can, while also learn new advices from new people! I hope that I can give advice and learn more and new advices and useful insights along the way!

What I Can Share with Hosts

With the exciting hosts that I will meet, I am open to discussion of any topics, spend time together whether it be inside or outside, share amazing experiences along the way, and try to be a great help for them. I don’t mind if I am requested for helping to do chores such as cleaning or organizing, and although I’m not a great cook, I can try my best. The most notable help that I can immediately do is help in the academic/ administrative sense, since I’m a person that pays attention to detail. I am also a person that loves any kinds of pets which I am able to help such as walking the dog or cleaning. I also try to be productive and try to be initiative in offering my services
