Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Welcome CS to Amazing Vietnam,
SamPham Homestay
We are a small organization that works with disadvantaged children in a small area in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

We offer accommodation to all nationalities and encourage them to teach the children about their country and the places that they have visited along the way, we rely heavily on their help as most of the children and students we have come from an impoverished background and the parents are unable to pay.
Sam is the boss and has also travelled extensively for study and sees that in his own area that the youth need opportunity to change the cycle of poverty and with Vietnam developing at such a fast rate English language is becoming essential for most employment whether it be in the construction field or tourism and hospitality. English is helping the next generation of Vietnamese to achieve a better standard of life.
Our students are between the age of 4 and above. We try to keep the groups in relevant levels of development and ability and also try to have groups of between 4 to 6 students per teacher so that they can assess each student and help them appropriately.
We use recognized materials i.e family and friends, Collins English(American version). We also try to have recognized newspapers( the telegraph, new York times) and use up to date media to give access to our students of current affairs and with English.
We encourage integration as we hope to discriminate against racism and other discrimination. We understand that children only learn this through learning and if we can help prevent it; it would be nice.
My programs aim is to broaden the experiences that students are limited to in the classroom. I want to bring the cultural differences, education, and experiences to the classroom so that students can grow and learn from each other and receive new perspectives of the world around them.

International English Class at Sampham home is a wonderful English class where Vietnamese local students are given the chance to hear from different speakers and discover what makes English so special. They will hear from educators from around the world, students from other countries, and study about cultures, language of teachers come from difference countries.

The lessons provided are based on real experiences and English books from Oxford University and International teachers who come from more than 50 countries and share with the leaders of tomorrow. Our aim is to make a better Vietnam.

Learning aims: To teach Culture and enable Vietnamese to develop at the same time as the country and give the opportunity.

I have a large house( Sampham Homestay where I offer free holiday dorms for couch surfers & International friends (Native or Non-Native ) 01-10 days to stay (You save 05-10 USD/day) (*Free WIFI, AC, hot water...)

MISSION
SamPham home is the community network connecting people who want to give hands of help in volunteering for education to improve the living standard of local people.
We identify the needs and offer our placements for volunteers to join our network and contribute their time to support local communities.

To pair adults with diverse experiences with local students to enhance their educational experience by engaging them in cross-cultural dialogue and inter-disciplinary learning is astonishing to see what results we experience.

To help students preview their preconceptions about a culture, dispel any stereotypes and treat everyone the same.
