ABOUT ME

I'm nothing too special, but I like to think I'm quite open-minded, curious and pleasant. I spend most of my time pursuing my many but meagre passions before realising I don't have the drive or talent to take it to the next level and moving on to the next one.

Generally I'm more of a listener than a talker; I like to let people speak, ask them questions, understand their world-view, listen to their stories and life-experiences, hear their opinions, to soak up all this information and let it shape me as a person.

I major in International Relations and Spanish at university in Australia, I'm currently on exchange in Guadalajara, Mexico and I have no idea what I'll end up doing for a living. One of the things I regret is never learning a foreign language during my childhood so I'm trying to make up for that now with my Spanish.

I'm always up for watching/discussing just about any movie you want to show me! I have a budding interest in filmmaking and photography and I definitely want to learn how to do both well in the future.

Film, travel, politics, photography, composing/arranging/playing/recording/listening to music, languages, comedy, youtube, football (soccer), journalism.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a lot of different types of films, almost anything that's intelligent and many that aren't as well. Some of my favorites are Memento, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Social Network, Up, L'Auberge Espagnole, A Clockwork Orange, Chicago, Hot Fuzz, The Prestige, Love Actually, Titanic and anything made by Walt Disney.

Unfortunately I don't seem to read as much as I used to, nor do I spend as much time listening to music. That doesn't mean that I'm not interested in books or music, but I don't consider myself very well-read or very well-informed about modern artists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked 100 kilometres in 34 hours across rural Australia to raise more than $6000 AUD for Oxfam. Want to do it again in future years, but faster!
