About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live out life to it's full extent!

ABOUT ME

I'm always on the look for opportunities, and try to let possibilities form my life rather than restrictions.

I travelled in mainly Asia for about 15 months from Sept. 2010, and I got to see many magical places and meet - often by accident - some of the most amazing people I've ever met in my life. People who simply said "Hey, come to my place. I don't have a lot, but I'll happily share it with you!". I hope that I've learned from them, and that I'll be able to charish that legacy.

I'm easy to be around, outgoing, positive, and talkative. I don't smoke, but I enjoy the occasional beer or two. I play a bit guitar, enjoy a good run or workout, and I'm always interested in learning new languages and culture. If you have any questions at all, please ask me :)

PHILOSOPHY

To live is to share. I live to explore life in as many ways as possible, and in as many places as possible.

I believe we all have the power to change the world, if we are willing to start with just one person or case. By building from that, or by the effect of what we do, our struggles will multiply.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by sharing it's existance with people who don't know. I participate by being the best guest I can be. I participate by actively looking to help people get started. I will participate by hosting when I can.

So, give me a shout, I'll be more than interested in meeting new people or go somewhere interesting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While travelling I've met so many incredible people that shows me the genuine value of this site. I've been hosted in Russia and China, met couchsurfers also in Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and I have so far had only positive experiences with the people I've met!

Interests

I play guitar, not amazingly, but I have done it for years, and I love the sound of this amazing instrument!

Scubadiving, skydiving, parkour, volleyball, poi, juggling, massage, balancing, meditation, levitation - these are all things I'd love to learn or know better. Teach me?

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Into the Wild (dooh), Crash, Seven Pounds, Meet Joe Black, 300, The Boondock Saints, The Shawshank Redemption, Conspiracy Theory, Forest Gump, October sky - there are many. What really hits me, is movies that are both intelligent (K-pax) and emotional (Pay it forward), without beeing tacky or overdone (The Fountain). If it gets my tears out, it's most likely a good movie ;)

Music: Almost anything. I'm very into instrumental guitar at the time, so Trace Bundy is on my top list together with Tomi Paldanius and Tommy Emmanuel. I also enjoy instrumental piano, represented by Ludovico Einaudi. Among regular music you will find artists and bands like Snow Patrol, Imogen Heap, John Butler Trio and Wookiefot.

Books: My absolute favourite is Shantaram, a book about a mans struggle to find his own place in a new country with a totally different culture. Takes him through fire and rain, war and disaster, love and humility. A great book. I also like most of Paulo Coelho, especially Veronica want's to die and The Alchymist. Other books;
Thunder & Sunshine by Alistair Humphreys
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
Into thin Air by Jon Krakauer
Call of the Wild by Guy Grieve
The Kite Runner + A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaleed Hossein
The Lord of the Rings

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The hatching of seaturtles on Zakynthos.
Paddling down the Nam Ou in Laos for 13 days.
Visiting Mongolia, an amazing country that I instantly fell in love with and want to revisit.
Spent one month at a fosterhome in Xi'an in China. Awesome!
The Transmongolian railroad in Russia.
Small towns in China (far better than it's cities).
Riding a motorbike through Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos for three months.

Also, any sunset, any clear and starry night, any storm, a beautiful walk in the forest. There are amazing things everywhere, every day, if you manage to see the beauty in them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Take every opportunity life brings. You will regret many of the opportunities you didn't take, more than you will regret the few opportunities that didn't work out. Live life to it's fullest potential, and - if possible - do it every day.
