Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Marsha, a medic based in Nairobi, Kenya. I’m deeply passionate about people, cultures, and meaningful conversations that go beyond small talk.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, Couchsurfing is not just about accommodation — it’s about connection, shared experiences, and learning from one another. I’m excited to meet travelers from around the world, exchange ideas, and create genuine human connections.
Interests
Outside the hospital, I enjoy discovering new food spots, nature walks, good music, and learning from people who see the world differently from me. I value kindness, humility, and authenticity.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music, movies, and books are some of my favorite ways to connect with people — so if you have a recommendation, I’m all ears.
For starters, books that make me think and see the world differently. I’m drawn to medicine, human psychology, and powerful life stories. I also appreciate books that explore purpose, resilience, and different cultures.
Favorites include works by Atul Gawande and Paul Kalanithi — especially When Breath Becomes Air, which deeply resonated with me as both a doctor and a person.
Movies:The Pursuit of Happyness
The Theory of Everything
Grey's Anatomy (of course 😄)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am a founding member and volunteer in a cbo called VIMEO ,which brings together young and experienced medics from different backgrounds sharing our knowledge, skills and human touch to transform amd support autistic children, reproductiveand mental health .
Teach, Learn, Share
By profession, I work in medicine, but at heart, I’m a curious explorer — of ideas, places, and human stories. I’m especially interested in global health, neurosurgery, and improving healthcare systems in low-resource settings. If you’re into deep conversations about life, purpose, medicine, or different worldviews, we’ll definitely get along.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I may not offer luxury, but I offer something more meaningful — genuine connection, warmth, and a safe space.
