About Me
I am teacher by profession trained as an ECDE graduate.I live together with my wife Lavender in Mfangano Island Kenya,where we run a school for the needy children.We need volunteers to visit us and share knowledge and skills with our children and teachers.I have six classes, and the school is located in Mfangano Island,in Eastern part of Mfangano.We started the in 2017 Bethesda Joyland Centre Academy.We are currently having a population of 123 children who who vulnerable and needy, and who comes from poor backgrounds.
I also do farming in the school compound with children,we plant vegetables, bananas, sugarcane and tomatoes.
My hobbies are, storytelling, reading, swimming, scouting and travelling!
We hope to improve also in this area with the help of skills and knowledge from travellers (volunteers)who will stay with us.
I also work with widows who we train in tailoring work within the school compound.We have one sewing machine at the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To share ideas with friends and acquire skills and knowledge from them.
I also wants to create impact to our community by mobilzing to acquire advanced knowledge on various farming techniques and will happen mostly when I engage them with travellers with different skills.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have helped needy children in our community to acquire basic education and instilled Christianity in their lives that has enhanced hope in them.I have donated tree seedlings to various communities, many also come to learn our banana growing skills and knowledge.
Today many people have developed interest which they have put in practice by growing kales and tomatoes
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a teacher and always ready to learn new skills and cultures.I am also ready to share about our culture.I do horticultural farming with in the school compound in the school farm, we grow kales,tomatoes, onions and spinach which facilitates a balanced diet for our children.
I also grow trees, with different communities like Wamai, Ugina and Nyahera village.
We believe afforestation will make our Island to become green again and with with good climatic conditions.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will be able to share about our culture with our volunteers and stories as well.I will also walk with them around our community for recreational purposes.
I will offer accommodation and local meals and ensure safety health measures.
