About Me

I love history, literature and coffee. I have travelled through most of the countries in the Americas. I love learning new things about the countries I visit and traveling slowly enough to appreciate the small details which make a place special.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found Couchsurfing by accident. I was traveling across Argentina, missed my bus, and hid in a coffee shop in pelting rain to make a new plan. My barrista happened to be a big Couchsurfing host, and told me all about their Couchsurfing adventures, and invited me to join their household for a few days.

Of course, after this, I saw a whole new side of Argentina, travelled much more slowly, and loved how any social interactions Couchsurfing has brought.

I've never looked back.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are usually non fiction. "The Last Girl", by Nadia Murad, "Behind the Beautiful Forevers" by Catherine Boo, and, "The Beast", by Oscar Martinez.

Each of these books provide eye opening autobiographical accounts of a world one can't truly relate to and are excellent feats of reportage in their own right. Nadia writes about being captured by Daesh in Iraq, Catherine about live in a Mumbai Slum and Oscar about the migrants journey through Mexico to the US.

My favorite film is "Withnail and I"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I cycled from London to Barcelona to settle a pub bet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am open to all, but simply meeting hosts and learn a little more about the secret places that make the place they call home special is perfect for me.

I can cook and select a fine wine for any meal!
