Overview
About Me
Although I am Swiss, I am currently living in Kyoto Japan for University Exchange. I study Archaeology and Japanology (Japanese Studies) in which I am deeply involved.
I would describe myself as someone curious. I love discovering new things (countries, culture, languages, food, etc.) which explains why I obviously love traveling (why would I be on couchsurfing otherwise). My main passion is Japan of which I study the language and history in my studies. My other hobbies are reading (not specific kind of book, although I am particularly fond of history), learning languages, and sport (I practice karate and kobudo).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing has two main advantages in my point of view:
1. A unique opportunity to meet the people of the region I am visiting.
2. The economic aspect (I remain I student after all).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Go fishing on a boat, spend the night anchored in a small bay and being reached in the morning by a military corvette which inform you that you just spent the night in the middle of a highly dangerous military operation area. (We also almost collided with the shore during the night when fishing because of a GPS default). That was a holiday full of emotions but which fortunately ended well.
Teach, Learn, Share
Being a real language buff, I might probably ask you to teach me some basics of your native language.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Beware, I can be dangerously talkative on subject I love (mainly Japan and history). But if you are interested in them, I would be glad to have some good discussions with you.
Otherwise I can be a nice company for a few days.
