About Me

I'm a passionate human with love for transit systems, cycling, and cinema. Curiosity about the world around me and a desire to understand stuff I don't know are my pillars.

While I am an ally of queer and LGBTQIA+ humans, I am a straight dude who is mainly interested in finding friends and travel companions regardless of their gender (or non-gender). I kindly request that you avoid suggesting meeting up if you anticipate that it may lead to something more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a lot of great reasons for being on Couchsurfing!

I think it's perfect for people like me who are interested in learning about local culture and customs, as it provides an opportunity to experience way of locals' life firsthand. I like to get a unique perspective on the area I'm visiting.

Not gonna lie it also frees up more money for other expenses like food, transportation...

That being said, I personally like to treat myself when I travel. For me, the essence of traveling is about embracing new experiences without being overly concerned about every expense. I do keep an eye on my budget, but it's not my primary focus. Hence, preferring booking a hotel/airbnb if I don’t feel somewhat connected with my CS host.

It's interesting to observe that some travelers, especially from western cultures, tend to look for 200% free experiences. During my travels, I've encountered individuals who lean towards anti-capitalist views primarily when it affects their finances.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is embark on a trip through the rugged terrain of Oman northwestern desert.

The journey began with a 10-hour bus ride from Muscat to Salalah, where I stocked up on supplies and borrowed camping gear. From there, I made my way to the Empty Quarter.

Over the course of several days, I hiked through some of the most breathtaking scenery I've ever seen. The sense of freedom and accomplishment I felt was indescribable.
