Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Samy ! I’m an automotive engineer working at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, the city of cars. I grew up in Berlin, so I’ll always have a soft spot for big city life, currywurst stands, and open-air markets.
When I’m not working on the latest in car tech, I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and sharing good food and drinks. I’m a hands-on kind of person who loves tech and anything well-built (no surprise there, right?), but I also have a creative side that comes out when I’m traveling or tinkering with things.
In my free time, you can find me hiking, watching football (go Hertha BSC!), or learning a bit of photography. Friends would describe me as laid-back and curious, but also up for spontaneous adventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling and getting to know a place through the people who actually live there. Couchsurfing offers the chance to meet locals and see places in an authentic way (and avoid sterile hotel rooms, let’s be real). I also enjoy sharing German culture with travelers, especially Berlin’s unique vibe – even though I now live in Wolfsburg, I’ll always be a Berliner!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I grew up in Berlin, but I didn’t learn how to make proper currywurst until last year. Moving to Wolfsburg finally made me learn – a bit embarrassing, right?
Teach, Learn, Share
Don’t force anything, stay curious, and take every chance to try something new. Whether it’s a mountain trail or a coffee with a local, I think every experience teaches us something.
I’m still pretty new to Couchsurfing, but I’ve hosted a few travelers and love the idea of connecting with people from all over. I’ve also traveled solo around Europe, so I know how it feels to arrive in a city where you don’t know anyone.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Interesting or Light Conversations: I enjoy deep conversations, whether about electric cars or the little things in life.
A Guided Tour of the Autostadt: If you’re a car fan, I know the Autostadt well and would be happy to show you around.
Help with Small Repairs: If something’s broken, I might be able to help! Fixing things is second nature to me.
Good German Food Recommendations: Yes, I’m from Berlin, but Wolfsburg has some hidden gems too – especially for meat and beer lovers.
