About Me

I grew up in Ulaanbaatar (UB), Mongolia, studied abroad in upstate NY for my undergrad in IT and Graphic Design, spent some wonderful time living/working in Burlington, VT, took a year off to backpack around the states surfing on couches, volunteering on farms and meeting some of the most interesting folks, and now I'm back home in UB freelancing on fun creative projects.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to explore different cultures through meeting new people. Couchsurfing provides an awesome opportunity to make your travel more fun, convenient and easier. Staying at hotels and strolling through tourist destinations is not gonna give you the real sense of the town and culture because you're separated from the locals, who create and add up to the the local culture.

Interests

Lots of things, but probably music above all. My primary instruments are guitar and bass guitar, but I love exploring all sorts of odd sounds I can find, which is why I'm obsessed with Ableton right now. Others things I enjoy:
watching great films! and some series (there's a link below for my imdb list), photography, graphic design (typography makes me smile), hiking (being in the woods), reading (mostly novels), cooking/baking, walking mindlessly (exploring new places)

Here is my frequently updated IMDB list of some brilliant films I've seen in the past that I encourage others to see as well:

Books... hmmm... Greg Boyd, Orwell, Vonnegut, Huxley, Ben Hoff, Kerouac, Burroughs, Bukowski, Ginsberg, Ferlinghetti, Salinger, Alan Watts, Calvino, Kafka...
The Tao of Pooh (and The Te of Piglet) is my bible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked around the states for a year hitting up around 20 states, some 50+ towns and 4 wonderful farms. Learned a lot from talking to hundreds of strangers along the way, gained a much wider perspective in life from crashing on many couches and seeing how every single person's lifestyle is unique.
REMEMBER there's always far more people willing to help you than hurt you.

I gave Thundercat a big hug on his 30th birthday when he was sufficiently drunk.
