About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting out of the comfort zone and into some adventure.

ABOUT ME

I've lived in portland a little over 10 years. Which is the longest I have ever stayed in one place. I'm fairly easy going. I like to laugh and dance and have fun. I have been labeled by others as a nerd. I don't know if it's true, but I *do* spend a lot of time on the internet. Probably too much time.I'm kinda a foodie. (This *is* portland after all) I like to volunteer. Um..That's all I can think of at the moment.

PHILOSOPHY

"You have not failed until you stop trying."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to go to most of the local meetups.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm fairly new to the site/organizition. But I'm not really new to couch surfing as a concept.

One of my fondest couch surfing memories was going to WoMad (World Music Arts and Dance Festival)many years ago and staying with a friend of a friend. She had just redecorated her guest room and was so excited to have us.
One of the best weekends of my life.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies, music and books!

I really enjoy movies from almost any genre, everything from high flying action flick blockbusters to silent films and foreign films.

My music is mostly old rock'n roll. I also like folk and reggae and anything that's good to dance to.

I mostly read fantasy with the occasional murder mystery. I have been trying to branch out into non-fiction lately.

I also like to game sometimes. I like adventure and puzzle games (Think Zelda, Professor Layton, Plants vs. Zombies, Sushi Cat)

I also enjoy tabletop gaming. (Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Flux -that sort of thing.) And yes I have played Race for the Galaxy. I don't claim to be good at, but I can play.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is a valley we used to go to when I was a child. I don't remember the name, but I think it was in Hatchers Pass (Alaska). The valley is covered with snow for about 10 months out of the year, so when the snow melts there are tiny freezing creeks every where and everything blooms all at once. It's so green. It was a long time ago, so maybe nostalgia has clouded my memory but I remember thinking it must be one of the most beautiful places on earth.
