About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Traveling for the sake of my own enjoyment and adventure while trying to figure out where I'm gonna live and how I'm going to support myself as a freelancer. (Among other things, I work as a tour guide, so I do a lot of traveling, but it's always for other people, and to make a living. Even though that's fun, it's not the same as traveling for your own pleasure.)
ABOUT ME
I think you should get to know me. :) I'm a pretty laid-back, kind, and open-minded person, who loves learning about other people and their lives. I'm super curious about what makes people feel and do a certain way/certain things, and I love listening to stories. Always up for deep conversations, new experiences, a good laugh, hiking, movies, walks, board and card games, road trips, and dancing. I also love writing. I mostly write screenplays. So if you're a producer or agent, let me know. ;)
Also, I go by Sandra, but CS doesn't seem to allow me to change my name on my profile.
PHILOSOPHY
There are a few values and "rules" that I've been living by, and they seem to be working out pretty well.
- Always ask. You don't get anything if you don't ask for it. If you do ask, the worst thing that can happen is that you get a no. But if you don't ask, there's no way you can get a yes.
- Be kind to everyone. Especially, to yourself. And even to assholes. But be also clear about your boundaries and don't let people take advantage of you.
- Stay curious, and get out there. To explore, to learn, to feel, to experience different things. Good or bad.
- Always remember that people's reactions are mostly about them and not you. So don't connect your self-esteem or worth to someone's rudeness or negligence, ignorance or distant behavior, or anger.
- Be courageous, be vulnerable. The rewards are totally worth the momentary feeling of embarrassment or fear.
- Learn to let go, and move on.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Luckily, I had many wonderful experiences with couchsurfing and hosts, and a few odd ones as well that make great stories and of which I'm happy to tell you about in person. :)
I'm on Couchsurfing because it's a great way to get a glimpse into people's real lives, understand their culture, learn about their countries and history, and make meaningful connections.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is such a hard question for so many reasons. :D
1) I'm terrible at remembering the names of singers or songs. But I often get to listen to music because of a film I saw, or a friend that showed me music.
2) According to Spotify, I'm a "Repeater" :), which is so true - I keep listening to songs I like since high school. :)
3) I LOVE movies, and my taste is super diverse. Can't handle horror and am not a fan of action, but I'm a sucker for good stories - be it a romantic comedy, dark drama, or sci-fi.
4) I read about 3-4 books at pretty much any given time because it always changes what I'm in the mood for, and the books are also in different languages.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Pff... I don't know. Would snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef be an appropriate example? :) I encountered a reef shark and for my European heart and a person that grew up in a landlocked country, that was pretty shocking and amazing at the same time.
Teach, Learn, Share
You don't have to have a reason for everything. You don't have to understand why people do (or don't do) things, you just have to learn to accept.
