About Me

The present: 2024 is almost here but I already began a new chapter. I’m spending the winter just outside of Schladming and wanna dive deeply into the alpine lifestyle the next months.

The past: I call Berlin home since more than two years now, trying to find balance in the busy life of a journalist. This city is so divers that it can be exciting and intimidating at the same time. I love it for the history!

For guests: please read through the ‘my home’ section, I’m quite busy with work and my life, not always up for going out or showing you around, but I try to make time for a dinner together at least.
I’m not hosting more than 2 people at once. There’s only a sofa that fits 2 people but might be a bit cozy.
You need references to stay with me. If you don’t have any, get some from friends on Cs or get involved into the CS community. Feel free to provide me with your social media accounts if you’re not really active here.

I prefer slow, authentic, enthusiastic travelers. I have some problems with people who just go to places to check a list or to have a new Instagram pic. If you don’t find at least one thing in my profile that interests you, please don’t stay with me.

My mentor described me as ‚tuned in‘, a guy once said I’m like acid. You better find out by yourself! Fact is: I am an original Munich child (Münchner Kindl as we call it) but identify myself really European. After graduation from University I lived in Ireland, which I call my true home now! Spent some time in New Zealand where I lived on a self sufficient farm and learned about breathing meditation. My true passion is journalism and writing and I work hard for that aim. If I don't hold a book in my hands, I am a really active person, doing sports, yoga, surfing or making carrot cake. Mostly vegan and non-drinker, but still able to dance all night long or check out cool spots.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to remind myself that we're lucky and having a good life. We have enough of everything (like a couch - more than we actually need) and it's time to give something back. I believe in receiving a smile for every smile you've given. I love to meet local, down-to-earth people who are willing to give something but I am also willing to share my stories and interests (if that sounds too cheesy, I am sorry but I studied literature!). Couchsurfing is a good way off the beaten track of capitalism, floods of tourists and anonymous travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

BON IVER - MUMBLECORE - GEORGE ORWELL
I love anything acoustic, classic piano-music, Singer-Songwriters, alternative Indie-Rock, Jazz rap, grunge.

I am always up for dancing - even if it's at 3 am in somebody's kitchen. If you want to talk with me about literature, be prepared that I will have a long monologue about why you should read the classics and philosophy stuff but I'd love to hear if you know poems by heart! My favorite modern author is Franz Kafka and I would love to have a chat about how brilliant he was and how meaningless life is!

I'm not big with movies but if I have to choose a movie it would be an alternative coming-of-age-story as I need something to identify myself with and this long and confusing process of building an adult life is really exhausting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming with wild dolphins who just showed up under our jetski in the north of NZ

Teach, Learn, Share

If I could study for the rest of my life, I'd do that. People told me I am a real academic person believing in progress through enlightenment through education. Learning is also something that prevents me from getting bored. I know a lot about languages, history and culture and could share all that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Im a good listener, I’ll ask good questions. I can tell you about the original Oktoberfest in Munich and Bavarian culture (and there's more to know than everyone's getting drunk!). I can try to sing some good, old country songs but to really enjoy it, we probably have to make a bon fire and need some roasted marshmallows. I know loads of amazing german expressions and sayings. I could tell you a bit about your star sign. And giving hugs.

Countries I’ve Visited
