COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far we've had only good experiences. Thanks to all those who have hosted us, and thanks to all our surfers for staying with us and getting to know us!

Interests

I (Sandra) love entomology and biology in general. Rob and I both like hanging out with friends and meeting new people, traveling and seeing new places. We like playing card games and board games, and spending time with those we love. We like movies, music, and all kinds of good fun, and happy things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some movies we enjoy are, Real Genius, Elf, Coupling(tv show), Pure Luck, Million Dollar Baby, Snatch, the Birdcage, and Good Morning Vietnam. Music includes David Gray, Metallica, Nirvana, Cat Power, No Doubt, Garbage, Portishead, Radiohead, AC/DC, Pink, Tom Petty, Blind Boys of Alabama, Jack Johnson, the Beatles among various others of several different genres. Books we like include The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Harry Potter series (yes I'm admitting to it), and I think my husbands favorite story of all time is Les Miserables. I really enjoyed Don Quixote and thought it was hilarious until I learned it was supposed to be a tragedy from the husband of a Spanish literature professor...Oops

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a guy pop a wheelie on my motorcycle the entire length of the block before we bought it from him.

I've seen my husband juggle flaming clubs while riding a unicycle. Yes he can do that!

I've seen a moose give birth in my back yard. Much slimier than I would have imagined...

I've also seen my brother get chased by a mama grizzly bear,

AND a guy balance upside down on his head on another guy's head. Crazy!

Teach, Learn, Share

I (Sandra) know a lot about insects, and fruit crops especially insects relating to fruit crops. I can teach someone how to ride a motorcycle if they have one to learn on, but if you have one you probably know how to ride it so that doesn't seem very helpful...

My husband has degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, and micro-electronics and photonics (half physics and half electrical engineering). He can also teach juggling a bit if you are a patient person willing to practice.

We are both happy to share what we know and learn what you know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have wi-fi you can use. We usually cook dinners at home from scratch or close to and you are very welcome to join us for meals. You are also welcome to cook yourself if you enjoy it and want to share one of your fabulous recipes with us.
