About Me

Hello! I'm Sandra :)

I'm Irish and have been living in Edinburgh for the past 4.5 years. Leaving in October 2016 to travel and pursue some new adventures!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to welcome people into my home, love connecting with people, sharing stories and learning from each other. I think couch surfing gives us a wider sense of humanity, people helping people, trusting one other. It's so important!

Interests

I love connecting with people, mindfulness, spontaneity, smiles, cooking, eating, looking at food, deep conversations, being outside, the sun (we really don't get enough of it here) but also the rain and the wind, mountains, old people, playing music, singing, doing things outdoors, travelling, learning new things, community spirit, history, philosophy, handmade things (pottery and jewellery making still on my to-do list!), folklore and storytelling, celtic culture, open fires, simple living.

Music, Movies, and Books

Traditional Celtic music would have to be my favourite, I feel a real connection with it. I play piano and am learning the fiddle at the moment, listening to Scottish Fiddlers Mairi Campbell and Chris Stout. I listen to musicians like Ben Howard and Jose Gonzalez to chill out. I discovered Joni Mitchell years ago in San Francisco and love listening to her also, she brings me right back! I love all acoustic music, as well as some music from the 90s :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm setting up and running a b&b in North West Spain for Pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago from February 2017, hopefully it will be an amazing experience!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Warmth, a friendly face, a listening ear, chats, laughs, spontaneity, music, positivity, optimism, home cooked meals! It's also important to mention that I'm very clean and tidy and respectful of peoples' space :)
