About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be happy and make anybody else happy

ABOUT ME

Short Version:
Passionate and hopeful about everything, especially Music.

Long Version:
I was born and raised in a traditional Puerto Rican family (San Juan, Puerto Rico). Even though I am a San Juan city girl, my roots are in the coast of Barceloneta and the mountains of Orocovis at the center of the Island.

I am a very optimistic person who enjoys meeting new people sharing a good conversation with Manchego Cheese and a glass of wine.

What most people consider a problem for me is a situation, an opportunity to grow collecting material for poems and songs.

In this stage of my life I am looking for new beginnings with focus and clarity.

For a while I was struggling between living a traditional life (a regular job as a full-time lawyer or whatever is so-called to be realistic) and a creative life (dedicated entirely to music, so badly called unstable an unreal). That struggle unfortunately gets nourished by fear and therefore can paralyze anybody to embrace change.

I declare the end of this internal struggle that only results in unhappiness. I have come to firmly believe that dichotomy does not exist and that I can create my own reality creatively using all the knowledge acquired formally and through life experience, and all my talents, especially the ones related to music.

One thing is for sure: there is no room for failure; there is only room for success.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe we can achieve anything in life as long as we dream, desire, and work hard for it. The only real obstacle is within ourselves if we allow it to take over.

Don't give up hope. Hope gives us the strength to go on.

The best medicine: Laugh
We have to laugh at everything, especially at ourselves.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After friends talked me about CS, I did some research, and then I just loved the idea of participating because of all the life experiences CS can offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have hosted Geraldine and Margot (France),José Blanco (Michigan), and Katharina (Germany).

I expect to have a deeper experience (this time as a couch surfer)when I go to Los Angeles on April (2012) for the first time, to participate (also for the first time) in the ASCAP EXPO 2012 (19-21 of April 2012)networking with other songwriters and other members of the music industry.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are all teachers and students in life; therefore, never underestimate yourself or the others as both, so we have to pay attention to all that sorrounds us.

Simple things give us wisdom and the capacity to share.
