About Me
Despite I'm a Chemical-Biological technician, I understood that my way was another. That's why I got a Bachelor in Social Sciences for Development and Cooperation to Peace and a Master degree in Governance and the Global System (International Relations address). My dream is to work in African cooperation projects but it's hard to get it, so in the meantime I am doing other experiences. I lived 10 months in Romania where I was doing my European Voluntary Service spending my free time travelling in East Europe by hitch-hiking. After that I spent some months in Italy while I got an home-based internship with a Swiss organization and I lived in London 6 months working as Au pair. When I could, I always helped NGOs and other organizations in their working translations, besides HR recruitment, website development and grant proposals writing. I'm currently English-Italian translator for a NGO London based and for an Italian one and recently I started a collaboration with some SEM volunteers and I'm one of the editors on www.RefugeeMap.com. Our goal is to improve coordination among all actors involved and the best help's organization to assist refugees on arrival in every makeshift camp and border approached, besides trying to avoid emergencies by allowing volunteers to organize their work well ahead. If you'd like to contribute feel free to get in touch to update the map and add important locations such as warehouses, new border crossing, makeshift camps and informational ones as well. All updates are in English. We're available to get them in other languages too and then take care of the translation. Please like, share and invite your contacts to the RefugeeMap.com FB page! Thank you everyone!
I hate to speak my language and I love speaking foreigners ones. I speak English and Spanish that I studied during my academic studies. I learnt Romanian during my volunteering experience and a basic Turkish given that most of my friends were Turkish. Before university I also studied French for six years but now I'm getting it back very slowly and some months ago I was starting with Portuguese, that besides the pronunciation I love, it was easy to learn being very similar to Spanish and due to the Latin origin. Unfortunately, I don't have time to keep on it. The little I have, I prefer to spend with people!
Life is not meant to be lived in one place!
Life's short! Carpe diem!
Women are boring. That's why I prefer to go out with guys and most of my friends are male. BUT It doesn't mean that if I look for you or we had a good time together I'm trying with you! CS is not the right website for it! If you are woman and you liked my profile, show me that you are not just interested in make up, brands and talk bad about others. I'm just not interested in this.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I found out about CS when I lived in Romania with the purpose of hosting people or being hosted but it didn't happen to try it until New Year's Eve. Hence, I realized it was more than that and being new in London in 2014, I wanted to meet new people. That's when I remembered about this great website. So, even if I was the person who wanted to meet new people, make friends, share experiences, spend time together, we are all alone in this word, so I became the person who was helping people to meet, always remaining interested in my first purpose obviously.
There's one thing I don't do on CS. That's read the references. I think it's totally subjective. You can tell me that you spent a nice time with a person and that he/she is the best person you ever met, but if I just feel bad sensations, I won't go out with him/her.
Here my experiences so far!
London, 31.12.14
I met 2 CSers, one from India (Antony Parayanthara Varghese) and one from Chile (Pablo Gonzalez). I just wanted to spend the end of the year with new people and I publicly proposed to see the fireworks and then join a party which I was interested in. They pm me and that's it. So easy. We met up outside of Pimlico station and we saw fireworks from Millbank. We ended the evening talking in a pub in the same area. Nice people, good conversations.
London 2. 01. 15
I met again the same guys because Antony (Indian one) that night would have left to Aberdeen where he's living. We met up outside of Charing Cross station. We ate a pizza in Pizza Express (exit nr. 6 from the station)and grabbed a coffee/ beer in an English pub in Trafalgar Square. Fake Italian pizza but nice evening anyway.
London 5.01.15
I joined Mundo Lingo's event in Grand Union pub (Camden) with Pablo Gonzalez (Chile) who I met up outside of Camden Town station. I just spoke with two guys, one British and one Belgian during the event. I was a bit shy. I enjoyed anyway my evening with the Chilean guy knowing him better. Funny conversations!
London, 11.01.15
A Kenyan guy (Ken Omom) pm me for visiting Tate Modern and a Portuguese man (José Correia) just to meet him. Given that I already visited Tate and I didn't have so much time, I proposed them to visit the Whitechapel Gallery and have lunch together. We met up in front of the gallery. After the visit (not too much interesting as I thought) we grabbed a coffee/cappuccino in Dulce Cafè near the Gallery and we had lunch together in an Italian restaurant in Brick Lane. Pasta, pizza, red wine! So good! A lots of laughs and good talks.
London 12.01.15
I joined Mundo Lingo's event in Grand Union pub (Camden) with Pablo Gonzalez (Chile) who I met up outside of Camden Town station. Keeping in touch with José Correia (Portugal) he could reach us later. I talked with so many people. It was an amazing evening! Being a language exchange meeting I talked with people of different countries and I met for the first time people from Tajikistan. It was interesting to find out that the word 'nest' in Italian is a Tajik name of person. Nice people everybody!
London 17.01.15
I met Pablo Gonzalez (Chile) in front of Mansion House station. My idea was to join the St. Paul's beer event in Ye Olde Watling pub, but when we arrived there, we didn't find nothing that could make understand to people about the meeting. Even the bartender didn't know anything about it and I'm not the kind of person who asked from person to person if they were CSers or not. I think it was a very bad organized meeting. We stayed into the pub few hours anyway enjoying English/Spanish/Italian good/funny conversations and some beers.
London, 18.01.15
I met London Nice (India) in Trafalgar Square. Farial (Bangladesh) joined us while we were grabbing a coffee in Caffè Nero. We didn't have a plan and no desire to make it one. We decided for an Asian lunch and we went to Tayyabs. At the restaurant we met Sushant (India) which I was in touch with. Very nice time until that moment but London Nice (India) left after lunch. So, we grabbed a coffee in Kahaila in Brick Lane where José Correia (Portugal) joined us. The place was nice but too busy and the coffee was disgusting. Then, walking around we decided to go to Thames river's surroundings and we grabbed South African red wine and beer in a nice pub and we had a kebab dinner. I had a really nice day with all of them!
London, 21.01.15
I met Sushant (India) outside of Canary Wharf station. We walked around and we had dinner in Obicà, sharing Italian pizza and Porcini mushrooms and ricotta ravioli! Delicious! Then, we grabbed a beer and Chilean wine in a pub nearby. Very nice place and of course nice evening!
London, 22.01.15
I met Farial (Bangladesh) and Zakarya (Bahrain) in front of Stratford station. We ate a pizza in an Italian restaurant in Westfield mall and we grabbed a coffee in Pret a Manger, just next to the station. I enjoyed too much when we wanted to know about our languages. Bengali language has a very sweet sound while Arabic is just too hard to pronunciate. Lol
London, 25.01.15
I met Anthony El Khoury (Lebanon) in front of Borough Market. We ate something in the surroundings, we walked a lot near the Thames river and we grabbed some beer and South African wine in Hornimam At Hays's pub. Good conversations and very good time.
London, 2.02.15
I met Konstantin Gurenko (Lithuania) outside of Camden Town station. We grabbed a coffee nearby and we walked a lot in the surroundings of the station waiting for Pablo Gonzalez (Chile). We joined the Mundo Lingo CS event in Camden. Very nice evening, a lot of talks and laughs with known and new people!
London, 4.02.15
I met Farial (Bangladesh) in Leyton. We had dinner in a shawarma restaurant and we grabbed a really good red wine in a pub later. Apart from the cold it was a very nice evening.
London, 8.02.15
I met K. Pasha (United Kingdom) in Greenwich. He was kind enough to show me this really nice part of the city included markets, paintings, museums, parks, pubs. We ended the evening grabbing elder flower cider and South African red wine. So good!
London, 14.02.15
Pablo Gonzalez (Chile) joined me and my traveler friends in Brick Lane after dinner. We ended the night in Shoreditch joining a CS event in Zigfrid von Underbelly. I met the CS event's organizer and other CSers there. Nice people everybody.
London, 15.02.15
K. Pasha (Cyprus) joined me and my traveler friends in St. Paul's. We walked around the river, then moved to Camden to meet his friends and ended the evening dancing salsa in Central London. Really nice time!
London, 24.02.15
I met Alex (Albania) outside of Barking station and we spent few hours at the pub next to it. Really funny guy, interesting personality and moments enjoyer!
London, 2.03.15
I met Az (United Arab Emirates) at Theo Randall restaurant and we had lunch together. I spent few hours with him but we had a nice time and great food!
London, 8.03.15
I met Farial (Bangladesh) in Gants Hill station and we had lunch in a Indian restaurant nearby. Advice: Don't drink wine in Indian restaurants! It's really a shit! Later, I met Alex (Albania) in Barking and we spent a really good time in Greenwich walking around, drinking and eating Turkish food.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't have my favorite music, movies or books. They mostly depend on my mood! I just hate horror movies 'cause they make me scared and I like mostly soulful books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being editor on www.RefugeeMap.com and help out with refugees matter.
European Voluntary Service in Arad (Romania).
I traveled in East Europe by hitch-hiking (Romania, Hungary, Serbia).
I risked to be arrested for 10 months, buying smuggled cigarettes in Arad (Romania), just to save money 'cause I was volunteering there.
Hungary's experience. When sometimes the unknown can be a serious risk. You will know when we meet up!
I slept inside a kid house in a park not to pay for a hotel. Sometimes it's safer to stay outside than inside. You will know why. (Oradea, Romania).
Getting on a bus without paying the ticket, seeing the controller and escaping from the first door. (Baia Mare, Romania).
Have being in London also to improve my English and having lived in a Pakistani family.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Italian, English and Spanish, and a bit of Romanian and Turkish language. I can teach you how to cook Italian pasta (the real one), some other Italian food and how to make a good coffee with the coffee maker.
You can learn to really listen to people and be helpful to them.
