About Me

IN OLD OUEST NEAR THE HALLEN
I’m a super experienced host! You get more than a place to stay: a potential new friend!
I’m a French curious person. We can speak English, Dutch and I love to practice Spanish and learn new language and about new people, ideas and experiences.
LONG STAY PREFERRED!
I love to share my house (1 sofa + one little room available) for some days till months. I prefer more than 1 night, unless you have bed sheets with you.
I need a contribution for your stay as an exchange to support my frequent hosting (cooking will be fabulous 😋).

CURRENT MISSION
Looking for a change!
Discover more of the world, meet people from everywhere. Learn about nature and protect it. Develop the concept of responsible consumer! Your world is what you make of it.

ABOUT ME
I love to give and to receive, learn, talk...here in the North the sun shines inside!
It is now 20 years that I live in Amsterdam and I still love it because you meet people from everywhere. Life is great here because you have all the good things of a big city and can still enjoy the atmosphere of little streets, relax life. I also enjoy a lot the fact that there are more bikes than cars. Life is so nice with the bike!

Right now I'm working as much as I can. But I try to combine with one of the most beautiful thing on earth: meet people of the world with all their special and particular things!

PHILOSOPHY
Generosity and respect are essential here!
I wish everyone will open its heart to others with blind eyes (this is somehow what is going on with CS?). I love to give but I love to receive too! Relations have to be 2 ways! I perfectly understand that the host cannot accept people that come with empty hands while he/she is ready to offer a bed, a shower, time, informations, all for the guest to have a good stay.
I have no interest and only blames to people that do not have the courage to be true and respectful! So far (let's keep it that way!) I had only good experiences (excepted people that come, use CS for a free place and have nothing to offer but just the will to use people's kindness!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
First of all I can not reply to all the requests, messages: far too many! So just consider a no reply as a no. I cannot host all the time! Only when I'm in and get the impression we will have a good time.
With CS if you host or travel you get the chance to meet and discover a country through the eyes of its people! It has been full of unforgettable experiences! Everyone should travel to meet different cultures, way of thinking, be outside of his confort zone and get an open-mind.

CS gives the chance to people to travel when they don't have much money. Ho(s)tels in Amsterdam are too expensive and tourism gives to housing crazy prices! I'm glad to cut it down but I'm not here to give without receiving: please try to participate as a guest as a gesture of respect. Especially if you are not able to host back!
References are important but I have hosted wonderful persons that had none! Everyone should get a chance! A nice profile telling enough about the person, commun interests and clues that makes you want to meet is much smarter because it is almost a guaranty of a wonderful time!

Some people use this website to have a short "love" relation. Be clear of what you want! I heard stories. Not my interest or intention but by accident I hosted a wonderful man from the other side of the planet, Chile! After spending few days sharing wonderful time, we met again and stay for 5 years together. So be aware of the unexpected when you meet people! 😉

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted now more than 100 persons and I love it! It's like travelling from home! I got to meet a lot of nice, amazing, wonderful persons! And I had some great experience visiting back my guests/new friends!

Travelling is not to spend time on internet but just follow the road that takes you. I travel a lot via hostels or little hotels with a personal cool atmosphere as I don't like to bother to be online too long to ask for a place and I want to set it in few minutes
. AirBnB is great as more of a fair deal by paying the service of using a place, someone's time... but unfortunately the host most of the time does not live there! A place to stay is not about having a fancy room to sleep in but having great time with the host. Couch surfing brings much more than a room!

Interests

I love nature and travelling! I also love photography.
Maybe it is a French / woman thing but I love to talk with people and I love good food and to cook!
I stopped definitely to buy any kind of prepared food, even bread and cookies! Homemade food taste so much better!
I try to buy local products as a responsible consumer (not fruits and vegetables from the other side of the planet!). I also try to be responsible to Mother Earth by making compost, recycling, buying less, avoiding plastic, living without meat (I'm almost vegan! But very open to people's choices) ...

Music, Movies, and Books

I love guitar, world, traditional music. I recently discovered bachata with a friend. Dancing gives some much good energy 😊
I'm not interested in the show business and all commercial stuff, famous people. The movie of life is full of amazing characters!
I like to read and watch movies that make your mind amazed, make you think, wonder and make you want to discuss.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life is full of surprises! There are so many amazing things to do and discover!
Most amazing experiences were around traveling and working with artists 🤩. I’ll be happy to show you the outcome. One was with algae / spirulina 🧪

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach some photography, at least the basics! How to use your camera, take a nice shot! Maybe learn from you! Share some pictures...
Talk about science and things about photosynthesis, biochemistry, spectroscopy!!!?
I hope to give awareness about environmental issues, animal respect...
Cook, make your own bread with sourdough.
Share travelling experiences, a good time!
Learn from your culture, skills...

What I Can Share with Hosts

The French culture! Talks about life, its meaning (!!!?) and all kind of things, a photo session, yoga, cooking...
