About Me

CURRENT MISSION

For now, I am just enjoying the trip...

ABOUT ME

A bit nerd, obsessive road cyclist, homebrewer, researcher on Complex Systems. I'm a lover of science and curious about how the universe works and how we can understand it, I really mean it, I do research on this stuff. This curiosity spams to cultures, human behaviour and nature. Overall I'm an easy-going, open-minded, chilled, organised, tidy and very practical. I can't bare hate speech and believe that people should live their lives in peace whatever they want!

I left a dream job with a generous salary to pursue my love for science and research, this is what moves me and what I envision myself doing for my life. This process gave me the opportunity to reestablish priorities and pursue a better way of living, minimalist, more balanced, healthy and relaxed. In my free time, I love to ride my bike (especially in the countryside) and I'm all into it, seriously, 100km on weekends just for fun. When not thinking about the next tattoo, I enjoy reading fiction, playing video games (mainly RPG) and cooking while listening to a good rock'n roll, preferentially tasting some craft beer and with friends around.

PHILOSOPHY

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” – Albert Einstein

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I genuinely like to help people, especially sharing what I had the privilege to learn and I believe knowledge is the most powerful weapon to build a better place for living.
Everyone has something to share and we can learn amazing things with people, it's not only about travelling, but understanding and immersing in the local culture by someone who knows it intimately.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm all the way into Rock, hard rock, Heavy Metal and variations, Blues, Jazz, Classical and so on... It's hard to list my favourite bands but definitely these are included: Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Judas Priest, Metallica, System of a Down, Deep Purple, Queen, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, BB King, Buddy guy, Amy, Hendrix...

I'm a compulsive reader, my favourite writers are Bernard Cornwell, Asimov, Tolkien, George Orwell, Douglas Adams and Willian Gibson. In general, I prefer to read about science fiction, fantasy, dystopias, history, biographies, science, philosophy, ..., but I can entertain myself even with a package label.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving a life of working in the field at a small village with 2000 people in the middle of nowhere to get a PhD in Maths on the other side of the planet!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my personal experiences and lessons I've learned in life, and trust me, I've done a lot of stuff. I can also teach about technology in general, computer hardware, python coding, data analysis, business intelligence, project management and in the science field, I can share research methods, maths, modelling, statistics, ... I also love cooking, could easily share my skills and make you fatter :)
