About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Figure out how the world works.

ABOUT ME

Just an old guy trying to do his best. Sometimes I get pretty close to good, other times... But I endeavor to persevere.

PHILOSOPHY

First, do no harm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've gone to a few events and met fellow hosts. And I have hosted quite a few times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a nice couple and their new baby as my first guests. They were great and I learned about Central America.
Then a Kiwi who taught me about working in New Zealand and opened my eyes about how the country really works.
Then a nice guy from Nevada who liked Waianae so much he wants to buy a condo there.
I haven't couchsurfed yet but hop to do so.

Interests

Talking with friends, playing computer, working on polical campaigns, reading WSJ.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pulp Fiction, Queen, the Jack Aubrey series, Wired...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flew an ultra-light aircraft from New York to Washington, D.C. one week, and I saw kittens being born once.

Teach, Learn, Share

Taught a seven year old how to use a computer because his mother was nursing anew baby. He in turn taught his 12 year old sister, who used the computer and Net to write a paper for school which rated an 'A,' and his mother, who now used the computer to run a natural food lunch takeout.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Brazil, Croatia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Cambodia, Japan, United States
