About Me

tl;dr: Canadian neuroscience researcher, who in her spare time chases after a flying disc (ultimate frisbee) and reads anything she can get her hands on! Just moved back from the south of France. She can laugh for hours at good bad jokes. Here's one: Does anyone need an ark? I Noah guy.

--- When I am your guest --- You can expect me to do the same as I expect from my guests (below). I loved hosting and my guests were great, but there were so many people who just wanted to use me as a cheap stay; it made me feel like such a tool. If you're gonna use me as a tool at least use my full potential as a researcher! All in all, I will be very thankful to spend that time with you!

--- HOSTING --- Not really hosting that much, but please send me a message and I can see how I can help.

I am more likely to say yes to your request if:
1. Write a nice message telling me why you wanna stay with me
2. Have CLEAR pictures of your face
3. Offer to bring a gift or buy food, bc I like gifts and food, but I also like mutual gift-giving!
4. Have references -- very strict on this
5. Give me a THOROUGH idea of what you expect from me (e.g. take you out/show you around or just hangout) and what you expect to do.

Write1: "bucketsofsand" if you've read the above! (and well, I may just ignore your message otherwise)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Short Answer: Why not? (I know, what a cop out, but someone I knew once wrote this on a philosophy essay and got a 100...so you know).

Long Answer: I like being alone during the day when travelling, it gives me time to think and take it all in. But after a long day of doing nothing but travelling, I want to spend it with people! Hostels were great at the beginning, but the level of interactions lacked consistency - others already had plans or the timing didn't work out - it was just a lot of misses, so on CS I went! I started

I LOVE SITTING DOWN and having a nice dinner with people. Quality time is gold.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived through 2k16 and loving 2k19.
Went 30h without food or water for the 30h famine fundraiser

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: To make the best banana bread in the continental europe (imho; cheeeewy but also with a nice crust)

Learn: All things you are willing to teach. I devour knowledge like a lion devours an antelope: hungry and all-at-once.

Share: a meal is the best kind of sharing, but time and laughter are very close seconds.

What I Can Share with Hosts

-Good bad jokes: What does a baby computer call his father? Data!
-The most okay cooking skills, but makes a mad banana bread
-A listening ear and boundless curiosity
